That a sinner like you and me can actually be forgiven and become a child of God through faith.
Impossible.
Yet true.

Vessel makers and zoologists have proven that Noah's Ark is do-able. Google "chariot wheels found beneath the Red Sea." There are even pictures...Even though Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead...being God..He can do that, ya know! the Parable is a parable to teach a lesson and is alagorical to the afterlife. Anyhoo...what is really difficult to swollow is that in all of history since the Bible has been written the most difficult concept for people to grasp is that if God, being the creator of the entire entirety of everything from a few billion galaxy down to the molecular machines that build the cell and utilize DNA to do so...might possibly be quite able to deal with us in any unique and distinguished manner He deems necessary. Zagillions of Bazillions of Trillions of molecules all under His control...and He can't create a world in 6 days or instruct a man how to build a sea fairing vessel on dry land or part a shallow sea...OH...and raise a man He created back to life. Check out snow flakes, nebula, some specific species from the animal kingdom, sea life, the stars, the moon, sound waves, ultra violet light, radiation, space vs distance vs time, the "simple" cell and the eye...perhaps if you see these systems and how perfectly symbiotic they are and intricately designed you won't have such a difficult time with the rest of it....besides the Table of Nations in the Bible agrees with most anthropologists that mankind appeared suddenly on the planet and that the region of Eastern Turkey is the "cradle of civilization". Isn't Mt. Ararat range in Eastern Turkey? Hmmm...interesting. Love in Christ, ~J~

Not everyone takes the bible literally. Noah's ark is found in what is considered "pre-history" meaning there is no proof it occured but was a story inspired by God. Some have trouble with the story of Abraham and Isaac, the six days thing if you take it literally you will have a lot of problems. Modern scholars believe it was written latest of all the authors by the Priestly class whose goal it was to show God as miraculous and wonderful. If you notice there are actually two creation stories, the 6 days one, and the molded out of clay one, that is because they were written by different people. As far as the red sea goes, modern scholars beleive that there was a low tide that permitted the Jews to cross and it flooded by the time the Egyptians got there. So God permitted the low tide to occcur so the Jews could escape. It's still a miracle BUT IT MAKES LOGICAL SENSE.

I do software for a living.

And I still find people will not believe what they see on the webpage inspite of me explaining exactly how it gets done -- where the data is pulled from and how it gets rendered.

Some of my users will actually pick up excel, do the math and then compare the results -- this, after having the app run on their systems for over 2 years - and after finding not one error in the results.

The truth is, even if people saw the hand of God perform a miracle before them they'd still not believe. For it is an evil poeple that demands a sign. But no more signs will be given unto them.

Let me give you all an example. You know how you see images on the screen, right? Say, your resolution is set a 1024 * 768, right. Does it really matter -- no -- you should be able to see any image on that screen. Right?

Basically that amounts to 1024 * 768 pixels by 16 mil colors,right.

Now, if I could write a program that performed -- 2 raised to 1024 * 768 * 16mil iterations of screen population, then theoretically I should be able to view everything that ever can be seen by man in color -- and I mean ever, everything in the past, present and future. Think about it...

But, there isn't one person reading this who would believe that.

Ron, with God ALL things are possible. Think about the miracle of life itself. If the scientists had their way, they would have you believe in the ridiculous theory of evolution. think about it: if evolution were real then we would be seeing diverse life forms being branched off from existing ones almost on a daily basis. for instance, perhaps eyes in back of the head would be beneficial, or gills in humans living near water. but no, man is the same today as he was in the beginning. dog is same, cat is same, even fruit flies which have millions of generations in no time have not changed since the beginning. How do i know? scientists have some specimens preserved in amber and tree resins dating back hundreds of millions of years! they have a new generation every few days or week or so, that is trillions of generations of flies yet they are same as their ancestors. GOD RULES! dna is the program, it determines what is made and it never changes. nature cannot stand a mutated creature. this slaps the theory of evolution in the face. mutations do NOT survive long. they certainly do not thrive. when you see a 2 headed snake or frog, does it pass this trait to millions of offspring? NO! the dna gets passed, but its offspring is not mutated, they have normal frog offspring. (if indeed they get to mate at all).
Did you know the Bible says the earth is round?

"Isaiah 40:22 - It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: "

go meditate on that!

I think the whole, sex is bad routine! Sex has really gotten a bad rap! We were given something fabulous, by nature, God. or whoever! And The religious are bound and determined to stifle it, or belittle, or make it dirty, and they have said, 'You can't do this, and you can't do that! Why not?
When you are given something as wonderful as sex, you do not look the gift horse in the mouth! You take the gift and enjoy it, to the fullest measures! Sex between two consenting adults is great! Leave the minors out of it, and you'll be fine!

The creation story.

The biggest miracle Jesus performed and the one with least credibility to me would be healing the guy that was blind from birth. The brain simply doesn't work like this. I'd explain but anyone with a novice interest in brain development will know that a person blind from birth isn't going to process vision even if their eyes are fixed.

The bible was spoken is parables. Not meant to be take literally. People spoke very 'colorful' back in the day. Very theatrical. Of course it's hard to believe because it really didn't happen.

Moses says, "Here is the law. Do all these things and herein you will find life." Saint Paul says, " No man is justified by the law. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." So who does one believe, Moses or Paul?
