According to islamic teaching Son is only real son because the called son cannot be like a son. You can love him, give him wealth but still he will be only son of his father.

It's an insult to the mother of that guy.

Sure you can look at what Mafiagirl perspective; but we are a little more deeper.
Islam inspite what other people said that they dont respect females, they actually really do.

Some people just cant see it.

If it is me, if a man called "son" to my son I would not like it.
My son is not his son, he's my husband's son. I was not doing any adultery with that man.

Maybe this would explain why.

Definition of the word. "son" means biological son. Thats the definition. In english son might be someone you raised.......but yeah...we are switching languages.

Does deal too though with other factors.......like you can marry a step sister...cuz oyu are not biologcially related......why not?....it might be weird so if it is to you..don't do it. Watch the royal tenenbaums on that aspect

No one has given the correct answer.

It is not the culture. It is the command of Allah in Quran that prohibits adapting a child and giving him your last name as done in west.

Before Prophet Mohammad was given Prophethood, one day he saw a child was being sold as slave in the town. Mohammad bought the boy and brought him home for the help of his wife with four young daughters.

Mohammad loved him very much like his own son and never treated or called him his slave. People started calling the boy Zaid bin Mohammad. After few years his father Harith found out where his son was and came to Mohammad's house and said, please return me my son Zaid and I shall pay you what ever you want. Mohammad replied I will not take any money from you, your son is not my slave; he is free to go with you if he wishes. He called the boy and introduced him to his father. Father pleaded Zaid to go with him but Zaid refused and said I love Mohammad as my father and I don't want to go with you. Father was satisfied that Zaid is in good hands, so they went back.

When Zaid became young man God sent a command throughg Angel Gabriel saying Zaid is not son of Mohammad; A person must be called son of or daughter of his/her biological parents only. Since then people started calling him Zaid bin Harith.

This command of God became part of Quran to be obeyed as Law by every Muslims where ever he loves. Muslims in entire world can and do raise children of others but they never hide who child's parents are from the child. As soon as child is old enough to handle the truth, they let the child know who are/were his/her parents. If they are still alive, child gets to see them without any difficulty. If they already died, he is shown the grave, so he can visit and pray to God for them.

Reason is not to make sure that he doesn't marry his real sister which never happens because they normally marry within their clan or tribe. Every one knows every one. Such mistaken do not happen.

It is natural for children to start looking for real parents when they find out and they often get very mad at the adapted parents. They often completely disassociate from them for hiding parentage from him/her. You all know what happens in west. It is normal in Arabia to call son to any boy whom a person knows or the boy is relative or friend of his real sons just like in western countries.

Blood lines are not be blurred so that marriage can be made between people who are not closely related by blood.

If adopted children are given names of the adoptee father then he could end up marrying his real sister because his origins were lost.

I've often wondered why anybody would call anybody who wasn't their son, son. I don't even think anybody has ever called me son. My father never did, because he knew my name.

LOL... what?

I've lived in the middle east for a while, and the elders call anyone "ya ibni" meaning "my son".

Don't know where you got that piece of info from.

Peace.
