How old is the timing belt how many miles on the car? Fuel filter is on the left inner fender on the drivers side. At Nissan we can see live data and notoce things like fuel trim o2 sensor readings and make a correct repair$$$. But you must find an older Nissan tech who was around in the 300ZX days for the best diagnosis.

Save the money on buying spark plugs. Take it to a good auto repairer and get the car tuned and serviced, tell them to go over the car and let you know of any problems with it.

I doubt the spark pugs will cause this. There are many many things sounds electrical to me, but as I said could be anything

YOU MENTIONED .."POWER LOSS AT HIGHER RPMS.."
THIS SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A DIRTY FUEL FILTER,
AFTER YEARS OF USE THE BOTTOM OF MOST
FUEL TANKS IS LOADED WITH JUNK.
OFTEN THIS FILTER IS THE LAST THING ANYONE
CHANGES AT REGULAR MAINTENANCE.
GOOD LUCK. DO THE SPARK PLUGS TOO IT CAN ONLY
HELP.
