A person is about four times more likely to cause an accident if they are talking on a mobile phone whether it is held to the head or hands free (sadly the crap thiru sprouted about brain damage is untrue, mobile phone radiation just isn't dangerous to humans).

I'm not a fan of driving while talking on cell phones, but I think there are other things just as bad that for some reason barely gets any mention. For example, eating, drinking, doing the makeup, fixing the hair, shaving, etc, etc. All of these things take a driver's eyes and attention off the road, and thus should be banned.

What frightens me the most with careless drivers is that they may take the life of an innocent child or family. If they are stupid enough to talk on their mobile phones drink and drive they can go ahead and kill themselves but not others! When I drive I always look out for other drivers, even If I have right of way, because there are soooooooooo many idiots!

I don't believe my ears, then people should not have passengers in the car, radio's, etc. Cell phones do not cause accidents, nor does alcohol, or anything but someone losing control while they are the driver of a vehicle. Accidents happend before driver's licenses were even invented. Each accident on any road in any car is the blame of one or more driver's period! THE PERSON DRIVING THE CAR! Not phones, radio's, weather, alcohol, bottom line is the driver did something wrong and everyone else that drives should not be put in the same category because that person happened to eat fish, drink too much, be talking on the phone, or whatever while they were driving. All licensed driver's have a responsibility to operate a motor vehicle safely. end of story. Nothing else matters or is related to any other driver because only one person can drive a drive unless you're in Driver's Ed.

Its not just the immediate danger but the long term brain damage that electronic waves and transfer cause that needs to be attended to.As for vehicle accident it is a higher fatality percentage on the high ways then on small roads.

Your car is not a phone booth on wheels. If you need to make a call pullover, it's that simple. Yes, it would also be nice to get drivers to actually pay attention to their driving instead of getting dressed, eating breakfast, shaving, etc. No multi-tasking while driving, ok?
