I'm a vegetarian and take supliments like VitC, Acidophilis, Zinc and calcium and I eat a cup of carrots every day. The VitA helps the most. Still my skin sucks!

It may just be the way your skin is, but then again it may not. Some possible reasons that you may want to inquire with your doctor about:

PCOS: About ten percent of women develop multiple cysts on their ovaries that cause abnormal hormonal release.

Singular cysts on your ovaries or adrenal glands: A large cyst on your ovaries or adrenal glands could be secreting excessive levels of tesoterone, causing acne.

Cushing's disease: Can cause acne

Acromgegaly: Very rare pituitary disease, but can make the ski very oily.

Diabetes: Can cause skin disorders such as acne due to excessive levels of sugar in the sweat and pour circulation leading to poor wound healing.

Excessive iodine intake: Can cause acne

Inquire with your doctor.

Also, magnesium s likely to be of more benefit to you than the calcium supplement you are currently taking. Many women with acne have high calcium:magnesium ratios.

Prolonged (aerobic) exercise may help to decrease free testosterone concentrations, reduce high levels of sex hormones, and improve insulin sensitivity. Impaired insulin sensitivity is perhaps the hallmark of acne vulgaris in women.

PS:

In my personal experience the absolute worst thing you can do for your acne is wash your skin excessively. If you compulively wash you skin you are causing your acne to become much much worse. All those facial cleansers and other products are useless. I frequently had acne as an adolescent and then I finally realized that I was irritating my skin with excessive washing and irritating products. Once I left my skin alone my acne cleared up about 85%. If you tend to break out on your back and chest, my advice is do not run hot water over those parts of your body in the shower as this will aggrivate the "bacne" as well.

All throught high school I had a total of 8 pimples. When I turned 21 my acne got really bad. It cleared up a couple months ago and I'm 28 1/2.

I didn't really do anything to make it go away, it just did.

I know that doesn't answer your question, but I can understand your pain.

Skin can be genetic and acne just isn't a teenage ailment. I'm nearly 25 and my skin is worse now than when I was 15. Get some good facial cleansers with acne treatment and you should be OK. If its truly bad, see a dermatologist.

dearie... im 45 and i still break out as well.
i dont use makeup as i am alerigic to it but from time to time i use neutrogena on the spot acne treatment.i also dont use any kind of soap on my face due to having combination skin.
i only use a very hot clean wash cloth to wash my face every day at least twice a day.
the hotter the better, then let your face air dry... you can actually feel the pours close up as it cools off. just dont burn your self ...
try it for a while and see if it works for you at least a month.
let me know how you did and if it works for you.
cheers

Acne is one of the most distressing and depressing problem. Soak cotton wool in mint juice, and apply every day. Mix cinnamon powder with lime juice to make a fine paste, Apply on the spots and wash when dry .Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

maybe it's in your genes. my sister-in-law still has acne, and she's 35. The derma says that it's probably her eating habits but it could be in her genes.

Must be genetic or something.
