For the folks who think the rapture is a joke, then how do you explain what happened to Enoch and Elijah? The rapture will happen. Very soon God is going to pass judgment on America and everyone will have to choose to either repent or perish.

Just saw a piece on the Rapture on National Geographic TV It sounds beautiful BUT it was conceived by humans with no proof that they were divinely inspired. It is not so Sorry

The rapture as popularly viewed is a fiction that wasn't believed until 1820 and then only by a few fringe theologians and certainly NOT by any established religion. The idea didn't take root until the 1960's when the effects of the US government artificially promoting religion to fight communism started getting out of control. Examples of artificial promotion of religion were things like putting "under God" into the pledge in 1954 and putting "In God we trust" on the money which happened in the 1930's when people first began fearing communism.
The parts of scripture believed by most to be describing rapture are explaining when people "Get it" when the true Gnosis occurs. The bliss has you caught up with God. Your feet aren't on the ground in a manner of speaking and those that do not "Get it" will never understand what it means.

It is the wicked that get raptured, not the righteous... and I would not want to get raptured!
Matt. 13: 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together FIRST the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
In some ways this may be already happening. I think of Dresden and Tokyo being burned with fire during WWII.

The rapture as we know it is a fabrication. Won't go into the history of it, but the Left Behind movie is purely fiction.
However, there is a Resurrection of the saints, and that is the blessed hope. It will happen when this world is convulsing in its dying throes.
A Bible code gives you the complete plan of redemption. But for a start, read the last chapter: www.revelado.org/coming.htm

I believe it will happen. Jesus will come like a theif in the night no one will know the day, the hour, the year! I can't say who will go, I know that God knows our true hearts and we will be judged by God! I think alot of people turn a blind eye to what is going on in the world and around them. so alot of ney sayers think it will never happen. But believers know it will. we have free will, so we make our own choice as to if we will go or not.

All born again, spirit indwelt believers in Christ.
It is not up to you. If you are His, you will be part of it, whether you be dead or alive.
1Th 4:15 For we say this to you in the Word of the Lord, that we the living who remain to the coming of the Lord will not at all go before those who have fallen asleep.
1Th 4:16 Because the Lord Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangel's voice, and with God's trumpet. And the dead in Christ will rise again first.
1Th 4:17 Then we who remain alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to a meeting with the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 So, then, comfort each other with these words.

The rapture is a concept invented in the early 1800's by one John Darby.
It is entirely unscriptural, based on a literal interpretation of parables.

I think all who are saved will go. Regardless of denomination. I think many who thought they would make it will be left sitting. I pray that I am not one who is left.
Desiree - Christ already warned us about people doing like you suggest.
Matthew 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
