Let's say that you were once a Christian, like myself - for over ten adult years - and then because honestly, honestly, ...honestly - The more I learned about religion and specifically Christianity, the less reasons I had to believe it all until I felt embarrassed for having ever believed all that stuff...

So now, I am a confirmed atheist, happy and moral - so what do you think will happen to me when I die?

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Non-believer's case:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's case:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?

Dude, i'm sorry you feel that way - actually, i don't blame you with all the confusions and contradictions of the bible - but don't throw it all away - believe in God alone and blame it on all the Rabbi's that corrupted the new testament

seriously though, don't give up on God because its so hard in this materialistic world to see spirituality

that is a question of Faith and being an atheist, faith (in a higher power at least) is something you're lacking

Thats why i prefer agnostics myself, they believe anythings possible and keep an open mind.

But i get the best of all the worlds. I believe in truth and that all religions have a root in truth (otherwise humans couldn't believe in it) there fore i can form my own truth and its constantly changing as i learn more each day.

Well, you could decompose, and hopefully get a proper burial before this happens. Or you could somehow be mummified and the discovery of your body a thousand years from now might be an important one. Or you could be cremated and your ashes placed on the mantlepiece of your loved ones. There are many possibilities.

Nobody knows for sure what happens to you when you die. Whether you are an atheist or a god-believing christian, or any other god(s)-believer, there is no evidence that points to any differential treatment. We all decompose.

How do you become a Christian, then your not a Christian? You obviously don't know what it means to be a Christian. If you were not born again you were not a Christian. To be a Christian means you have a relationship with God. So you decided to brake off that relationship? Come on tell the truth now! You weren't really a Christian were you?

You can still die when you do not believe in God
and if he is there or not should not be a concern
once you are dead.

I can tell you about my experience,
but first I have to die
and how can I tell you of my experience
unless you are with me.

PS: I do not know if am allowed to SMS you.

What happens if you die and do not believe in God? The same thing that happens when you die and do believe in god. If you go six-feet under, depending on the skills of the mortician, you are a feast for critters that live down there.

You don't believe that there is a God out there? Just forget about the church for the moment and focus on your faith. Look at how amazing nature is, and reflect for a moment.
John 3:16 says that only if you believe that Jesus died for your sins will you go to heaven.

Let's say you were born in 1970.

Your afterlife will be exactly like the state of you when the world is in 1969 or before.

Simple cold truth, but it's the truth.
