I am a better shot than my husband or my Dad and it seems to bother them. Why does it matter?

My Dad was a sniper in the Korean Conflict and trained me with sniper equipment. So now he's mad because he was a very good teacher???

My wife has her own pistols, she shoots pretty well with them.

I did re-train her a little. The clown that originally taught her, showed her some pretty silly and dangerous habits. I would have loved to be in gunfight with him - he wouldn't have made it out alive.

And yes, when she is not frustrated, she can shoot MY GUN (.45ACP) better than I can, but only for a magazine or two. After that she doesn't want to shoot it anymore.

I shoot pretty well, fairly consistently, but she can out shoot me on ocassison and I do get frustrated- but then I remember that I taught her. It see it as a good thing. If something happens and I go down, I know she will hit the target.

Next step is the rifle, which she is scared to shoot. I am going to start her off on an AR15 with peep sights. I was a 3rd award rifle expert in the Marines.

I am pretty sure she's not going to beat me there, but she may give me a run for my money!

On the M-16 my wife shoots better than me, I have seen her score cards, she has never missed a target since she first had to qualify, (she was a WAC, so she didn't qualify in Basic). Even thiugh I always scored Expert, I don't have a perfect record like she does. She is still in the Reserves, so she gets the practice I don't.

PISTOLS though, I'm the better shot.

Nope. When I go out to the range, she brings a camera. She tried shooting, but didn't like it.

Now my Son....well that no contest. He beats me soundly most every time.

Does it matter? Not really. It's all in good fun.

Small caliber pistol and .22 rifle, yes, she is much better than me.
But she has some youthful advantages, being 15 years my junior. Steadier grip and better eyes....I'm happy with the fact that I taught her all she knows, her being from a knee-jerk liberal 'guns must be evil' family.

Boy that's an easy one. It's cuz yur a girl!
Just kidding.
I shoot USPSA,IPSC & IDPA pistol matches and get beat by ladies pretty regular so I don't let it bother me. The only one that gets to me is this little 12 year old girl. She has not beat me yet but she will keep all the guys on their toes. Keep shooting and keep beating them. They will get used to it or get better.

I wouldn't say she is a better shot than myself, however her holding a gun is a scary sight for a husband lol

Nope. She's good, I taught her but no. I've only met one person in my life that could match me at this feat on a regular basis- a rabbit (not moving) at 1/4 mile with an open sighted .22.

It wouldnt bother me if she was a better shot. Except that her skill would be wasted cuz she wont hunt.

Mine is better than me and I do not really care but thats just me; most men cant stand the fact that a woman could be better than them. (losers!) But she cannot handle a bigger gun
