Atheist? NO! Pagan? jury is still out. One thing is for certain I have alwyas, will always have issues with Solomon building temples for his wives to worship. He was the KING..you mean to tell me there were people changing their faith based on what he was doing regardless oif they were supposed to?

I have issues with Paul--a raving luntaic that spent YEARS persecuting Jews for their beliefs. Am I supposed to believe because he was blind and then not that he suddenly got religion? Not to mention his constant arguements with Jesus' disciples about the 'true' doctrine.

Isn't it easier to change the doctrine than conform to a law you have consistantly failed in following generation after generation .

We are no different than our ancestors...deifying prophets, kings, queens, inanimate objects, etc. Anything but the MOST HIGH!

There is a reason for the commandment Thou shakt have no other gods before me! I charge you to go to biblegateway.com and do a keyword search on MOST HIGH GOD using the exact word option and see how many times it comes up.

There is your proof that MAN has added his own doctrine to the Bible

As for who is the MOST HIGH GOD? I wish I knew. He told Moses His name was I AM. He also told Moses He was a jealous GOD.

I am an interpreter and we're talking about a text in part written in a language not often used anymore and some of its originals are lost.

Saul/Paul

Many many people do not like the Pauline Epistle or doctrine material. So too, as you, I felt this for years.

You are correct that Saul persecuted Christians.

He was a Pharisee. Extremely educated and quite knowledgable. He was present at the stoning of Stephen. Stephan gives a very powerful message.

This is important

Saul saw Christianity as the biggest threat to Judaism that there ever was in history of the Twelve Tribes (Israel).

The people that were converting were mostly Jewish. Saul with all his education and training over years and years was not able to SEE Jesus as being the Messiah.

So Saul would hardely agree with you. So many of his kinsman converting to Christianity. Another "prophet" and the teaching of that man. He set about killing the "heretics" off.

Hence being blinded.

Then It was time for Saul to become a worker for God Almighty and His son Jesus.

Saul was blinded physically but Christ opened his spiritual eyes.

Paul was the given the information he needed to become a not just a follower but a teacher of Jesus.

The book of Hebrew was most likely dictated by him in Hebrew with John Mark as scribe. Many people think Paul was Jewish, he was not 100% Jewish, Paul says he was a Benjaminite. Benjamin was absorbed by the tribe of Judah as were the remnants of the tribe of Levi by the time of the dispersal by the Romans.

I would start with the book of Hebrews to see how complete his transformation was. Hebrews is a fiery tract written to blow through Pharisaical doctrine. Here you will see how God through Paul began another powerful wave of conversion by the very man that had persecuted Christians.

His conversion shows the power of God and was and is one of the greatest witnesses of God Almighty.

Imagine the greatest persecutor of Christians, the highest academic teacher, the scourage of Christians with the power and letter of Rome - converts.

What an awesome witness.

Peace -C

Belief Versus Truth
Of course, it does not take deliberate lies to develop mistaken beliefs. At times, we just misread things. How many people have met untimely deaths doing something they believed was right? Then again, often we believe a thing simply because we want to believe it. One professor says that even scientists "often fall in love with their own constructions." Their beliefs becloud their critical judgment. Then they may spend a lifetime in vain trying to shore up mistaken beliefs.-Jeremiah 17:9.
Similar things have happened with religious beliefs-where immense contradictions exist. (1 Timothy 4:1; 2 Timothy 4:3, 4) One man has deep faith in God. Another says that the man is only "weaving faith out of moonshine." One maintains that you have an immortal soul that survives death. Another believes that when you die you cease to exist, totally and completely. Obviously, conflicting beliefs like these cannot all be true. Is it not the course of wisdom, then, to make sure that what you believe actually is true and not simply what you want to believe? (Proverbs 1:5).

Perhaps the questioner would do well to re-examine how the bible uses the terms "Jehovah" and "the Most High".

"Jehovah" is the English translation of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton ("YHWH"), which represents the Divine Name of Almighty God in its nearly seven thousand instances in the bible.

The books of Psalms and Daniel apply the term "the Most High" to Jehovah God dozens of times, and even Luke chapter 1 three times applies the term plainly to God (the Father of Jesus).

(Luke 1:31-32) You are to call his name Jesus. This one will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and Jehovah God will give him the throne of David his father [this alludes to Psalm 132:11; Isaiah 9:7; and Jeremiah 23:5, all of which explicitly use the Tetragrammaton]

(Luke 1:76) As for you, young child [Jesus], you will be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go in advance before Jehovah to make his ways ready [which alludes to Isaiah 40:3, which explicitly uses the Tetragrammaton]

It says that unless God calls you to repentance through the Holy Spirit and you come to a saving Faith in Jesus Christ and His death, burial and resurrection from the grave and trust Him as the propitiation for your sins, you will DIE in your sins and go to hell for all of eternity.....
