Sean I do feel for you mate, but don't you realise what you have done here, you have Left yourself wide open to identity theft here. I am stunned that the helpful people who have answered are too eager to get the 2 points rather than caring about your safety. Even the new people that come on here know the rules, you don't post information about living people even if it is you that's doing the posting.

www.ancestry.com--birth listing
California Birth Index, 1905-1995
Name: Sean Rene Jordan
Birth Date: 22 May 1988
Gender: Male
Mother's Maiden Name: Jordan
Birth County: Los Angeles
Just for giggles, I tried using the first/middle name Renee for your mother (since your middle name is the masculine spelling for it), and www.ancestry.com had this listing--with the right time frame and everything (Sept.-May=nine months)
and it is the only one of 56 listings that show marriages in 1987 (there was one more but it would have been 11 months in between the wedding date and your birthdate. I guess, if she didn't get pregnant right away, it would work. I'll add it at the bottom ):

www.familysearch.org had a RENEE JORDAN, b. 1961:

and there was no listing for either CAMILLE RENEE OR PATRICIA RENEE JORDAN at www.familysearch.org.
Hope this helps a little. :)

As a woman (or girl at the time) who lied about the fathers name on my daughters birth certificate, I can not stress enough how wrong and dangerous that is. At that time no one talked about the outcome for the child when doing something like this. It really never occurred to me that this may have repercussions for her. She actually went looking for the name on her birth certificate. She actually needed medical information for her son. Even if we do get her records her fathers name is still incorrect. Even if we can have all of her parents show up and request a copy, her father can not prove he is the man listed on the birth certificate because he isn't that man, and the medical information she needed was from his side of the family. If there was one thing I could change about my whole adoption experience it would be the name listed as her father because I didn't think it ALL the way through as a 16 year old scared expectant mother. I think you're on to something here. It should not be allowed in any fashion to falsify a document of this caliber. The information is too valuable. Not that it would be fool proof but a DNA test at birth would eliminate a lot of lies and possibilities for misconceptions.

I can tell you if you were adopted the birth certificate has to be obtained from sacramento; as are all adoptees birth records.
do you have any idea of the hospital where you were born; if it was a catholic hospital you might want to see if they have records. this is a difficult thing to find out;
go to the L.A. times archives for births and find out if there is a birth on that date to a woman named jordan.
also have you put a personal ad in the LA times ... seeking my mother; maiden name jordan; dob 5/22/88 you just never know.
also check marriage records in county of L.A. for the last name Jordan after 88 ...
good luck to you
