Free the pets at the pet store? Hahahaha
Why not free the animals from the pound, where they may actually benifit to some degree. (Especially if they're about to be put down.)
Pets at the pet store are often sold for lots of money to people who love animals and wish to take care of them. Freeing all the animals would probably result in a few getting run over or picked up off the street by completely random people and that's if they don't die of thirst or starve to death first.
Does that sound like a better place for those animals to be?

Setting all of the pets in the petstore free won't do any good.....I can't think of any reason anyone would want to do that UNLESS they're really big on animal rights. If thats the case then his issue should be with the company that breeds them, because from what I hear the animals are treated cruely............
As for setting all the animals in the petstore free, thats just going to cause problems because -if they get outside-, all of the pets will be homless and they could be hit by cars.
Or, if he's doing it as some sort of practical joke, you should tell him not only could he get in trouble with the law but he could be endangering lives if the animals were to get outside. Not only the pets lifes but, if people swerved to miss the animals.......erm, yeah!

yeah let all the pets into the city where they will scrounge dumpsters for food and run into traffic and get conglobulated by a torrent of metal and rubber, that sounds so much better than letting them be taken care of by proessionals until some nice middle classed family from the suburbs decide to adopt "fluffy" or "fetch" and give them a pampered meaningful life, instead of hearing little Sally Jenkins say "mommy why is that kitty on the road not moving", disgusting, erroneous, ignorant and idiotic, can I have order in this court of God. Maybe you can just put them in the back of your Tundra and dump them into a fiery spike pit.

NO! If some of the animals in the store are not native to the country, they may do more harm than good if turned loose into the wild.
Some animals are carriers of diseases not native to this country and therefore domestic animals may become infected.
He also needs to think about how his actions will affect his future.

The animals have a better chance of survival if they stay in the store. They get sold and then end up in a good home.
If he lets them loose they'll just get ran over or harmed in some other way.
BTW you should break up with him for being so wreckless.

Yes do it if you want a free ride in a police car followed by a complimentary stay in a gated community with 24 hr security, complimentary room service (they will bring you your food), and the rent is cheap. Best of all you don't have to tip nor will they evict you if you don't pay your rent.

And then all the animals run, run away, and some get run over, others eaten by other animals and the other "lucky" one's starve to death. much better than a cozy petshop. Tell your BF to take a Xanax, okay dear? I kinda like the irony tho...replaces animals with self in cage!!

There's a fine line between "right" and "legal". There are other alternatives to helping animals. If he wants, he can buy all the animals in the pet stores, but since those animals have been either born in captivity, or been in captivity so long, they won't be able to survive in the wild. How are they going to get to their natural habitats? Before your boyfriends becomes noble, ask him to use his brain too.
