I do my best to help the pro war people. Everytime I see a car with "I support he troops" decal "OR" a "I support President Bush" decal. I walk up to them and say a big thank you for the support. Then I request them to sign up their adult children for the military and go to Iraq and fight. The smile of the war supporter turns into a look of drinking lemon juice. Why do the nice pro war people turn against me? I served. Why can't they?

Some war supporers tell me they support the war as long as they (Or their children) don't have to fight.

As one war supporter said to me "If there is a draft I will turn against the war."

Good question. My guess is that as long as someone else who isn't their child is getting hurt and dying it is good to support the war. They are hypocrites and nothing more.

I suspect one of two things:

1) Judging by your Y!A history, I can't help but think you did it in a snide/insincere manner.

2) You didn't walk up to anyone at all, but are trying to subtly word your question which is basically the equivalent to: "Why are pro-war people so hypocritical and stupid?"

Dude, seriously. This question is dripping in...well, something unpleasant.

But to answer your question, what kind of callous parent would put their political or philosophical beliefs before their own children?

Umm...by the way...since when does supporting the troops mean that you support the war? Try to word your story better next time.

PS - However, I still don't like it whenever a really passionate pro-war person quickly withdraws when confronted about their children enlisting.

People tend to get angry if you give them attitude.

I did have somebody ask the same type of question to me; I told him that I don't have any children, but I do serve in the military. He told me that he wouldn't serve under President Bush, but would under former President Clinton. So then I asked him if he served in Bosnia or Kosovo; then he got angry.

It goes both ways.

hypocrits, some people just do that because they have nothing else to do with their boring worthless lives while our troops are out protecting them from the real danger and these idiots take it like it's a game. Your right about why would they not go to war if they so much support it?

This is the biggest load of BS I ever heard. Had you come up to me with that load of crap, I would have probably kicked the living tar out of you, and most of the vets I know would have as well. This is without a doubt one of the most moronic and idiotic and slimiest things I have seen posted. I think the closest you have ever came to serving was when you passed a recruiting office to ridicule those brave enough to serve.

So what was your answer you smug conceited little piece of turd when they answered "They are serving over there" as mine are. Take your holier than thou attitude and try it on someone else, I don't believe you for a second you limp dick, smarmy little worm.

They belong to the Bush family tradition that started when a young cheerleader name W was put in the front of the line in the Champagne, Texas Air National Guard, flying obsolete jets until he was unable to pass his physical, so then he was allowed to work on campaign for one of daddy friends in Alabama, or as some would call it, drunk in Alabama. This is called protecting your adult children while others fight for your rights, but being highly indigent when you ask them to put up or shut up.

The reason there is no draft is because we have over 120,000 men, working for a group named Backwater, that are paid a lot more than our brave soldiers to protect those in the green zone. So W and his cohorts have privatize a large number of those fighting in Iraq and just wait till you get the bill.

Because you are stupid! Parents can't sign their children up. There is no draft. This is a voluntary army! You said you served? When? Voluntarily or in the draft. I volunteered during Vietnam and saw the impact of smug idiots like you on our troops morale. I think most of today's service men have it more together and have learned to ignore people like you in the public, in the media, and in the Congress. This will be a long battle—hopefully not again on our shores. Our enemies do not need a Tokyo Rose with people such as yourself doing the job voluntarily. I think you should be ashamed of yourself. I hope you approach me on the street about this matter—I will do my best to appreciate your help..

If you want to bring the troops home soon, start the draft and make all 18 year old enlist. That might just wake Americans up.

I agree with you. I respect the war protesters more than the "troop supporters". They are huge hypocrites.
