He's earned none of the respect he's gotten and he can't take care of an engine. And don't tell me it's a conspiracy by Teresa to rig his engines. There's too much money involved in so many ways for that to even be considered true. Hendrick might give him a bump and he should make the Chase one of these years but he'll never be a Champion. He is a good racer but engines are not indestructable and the good drivers make sure they have an engine at the end of the race.

He's absolutely overrated and I can guarantee you that he's not going to be an instant champion just because he's going to Hendrick next season. Remember, there are already three, count them, THREE drivers on that team already who are better than him. Not to mention Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch (who should never had been replaced by Junior in the first place), the other Busch, Matt Kenseth, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, and numerous others who are better that he is. HE was the one driving the cars that blew the engines. He just doesn't know how to finesse a car to the finish.

Well first of all if your playing the blame game i guess i will to Jr isn't to hard on his motors Dei has to step up there engine program whether they get em else where or not Ever since Dale Sr passed on Dei has not been the best team out there yea they was winning at super speedways but that's it nothing more and I'm not going to put the whole blame on Teresa its all of the head honchos faults really why even remotely buy a team when you know your not doing the best now sounds kinda silly to me put the money where its needed in there own program not anyone Else's I think they have made some poor judgment calls in the last couple years Oh what are the gonna do with That 5th team if I'm not mistaking ginn had 3 teams right Yes Jr has earned the respect he so richly deserves Its because of Dei why he has not won a championship And just to let saq know Casey Mears is no where the drive jJr is nor will he be If he was why isnt he in the chase

I DO!!!
I met Jr a few years ago at his dad's Chevy dealership in Hickory & he was a total JERK!!! I stood in line from 4:00 am till 3:00 pm to meet Jr & Michael Waltrip and jr never looked up from the table!! I asked him to at least say hello as I had come all the way from Washington state to see him. he just sat there with his head down, never even acknowleged I was there!!!
Michael on the other hand was a total sweetheart & actually came around the table to give me a HUGE bear hug!! One of the best hugs I have ever had...it made me a Mikey fan forever!!
Jr on the other hand is an over rated driver & will never be a favorite of mine, he is more like the spoiled son who pouts & whines when he doesn't get his way & will fit in perfectly with the other whiners at hendricks....

Oh really? Let's first of all get one thing straight: I am no Jr. Kool-Aid drinker, I am a Gordon fan. Now to address your ignorance.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. has won 17 Nextel Cup races, good enough for 39th on the all-time list. That's more than Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Sterling Marlin, and a whole host of others. He's also won 22 Busch Series races and 2 Busch championships- pretty select company there.
Yes, the conspiracy theories are stupid, but your reasoning on saving the engine is flawed.
Consider this: Sr. was about 35 by the time he was at the same number of victories as his son, who is now a couple of weeks away from his 33rd birthday.
He may a bit overrated, I think all the popularity he enjoys is more fitting for drivers who have done more, but overall, your supporting evidence is weak.

You must have gotten your "save the engine till the end" from Days of Thunder because that isn't how it works.

Junior had 3 bad engines in 5 years, then 3 in 7 races. It's the engine department. The same engine dept that said don't practice too many laps or it wont make it.

He's a good driver, but nothing better than a Matt Kenseth or Jeff Burton. 80% of his popularity is because of his father, not because of his racing skills.

Why don't you hang on to this question and come back next yr the same time and ask the question again...Remember he is leaving DEI he is going to HMS the best in the business..Yes alot of people on here thinks he is very over rated. I still think he can pull of a win this yr.. Its been his equipment, look how many times he has been up near the front when the equipment has failed... We will not see this next yr with HMS... When he does win the championship I hope everyone who has said he will never win it has to eat their words, he may not win it next yr, but he has 5 yrs with HMS I'm sure he will get it done.. No he is not and never will be over rated...

Go Dale Jr & HMS
