I know theres alot of people that hate it but why? Listen to my story i was brought here when i was 2 illegaly and didnt know untill i was about 15-16. Ive studied here and worked here all my life. Im still illegal but go to college and have paid my taxes since i was 18 now im 21. Why dont people suppourt it. Ive heard people say that it grants us free college? wtf its a lie all it does is give us the right to do something with the degree we have earned. Its not my fault i was brought here when i was 2 and i do blame my parents!! Blaming them is not going to give me legal status here. I wish i could have entered legally here but i didnt have that choice. Most people who qualify for the dream act are in the same case as i am. We are all high school graduates and attending or waiting to attend college. We cant really plan our future because what do we do after we earn a degree?? We cant use it at a company. Dream act does have an age limit of 30. You need a h.s. diploma to qualify.

I HAVE TRIED ive gotten 5 different fine lawlers they all said theres nothing yet even though im married to an american citizen. They said wait for dream act only choice. So i have tried i have contributed to america ive donated blood and done community service. The dream act dosnt cost anyone and how can you say no when the dream act would alow thounsands of people to join the marines or army and willing to risk their lives for the country they have loved since they were young. How come their willing to fight for you when you look down at them and wont even give them the chance to work or enroll.

OK i go to college not using some one elses ss and you sound like an ignorant person thats not educated. If i become legal im not going to drag my family here because their the ones that dragged me here!! Their legal now but i wasnt able to be fixed because i was older then 18 when they fixed their status. SO what about me!?!?! i work and i earn cash and college does not require you to use a ss if you have studied your whole fuking life here!!!

I support it. I think that intelligent people should be able to go to college. It not only benefits the child, but, could potentially benefit our world. There are too many bright kids out there that should be able to be educated. In our local high school, one of our valedictorians came here with no English in junior high, opted out of ELL in 9th grade, and, tied with 2 white kids with 4.0. He is now working at a restaurant, though this child had dreams of medicine. He could be an incredible asset to our country- and the world. Denying him education is simply ridiculous.

I have no fear of my children competing with anyone for slots in a University. I am sorry to say this, as it sounds really rude, but, if my children (born in the US with English as their primary language), can't compete with children that are struggling- with the language, with economic struggles- then, frankly, they don't deserve to go to college. College is an honor, and, our brightest should go. If you are smart enough, you should go. If my kids can't "cut it" then, they & I have failed. It isn't the fault of someone that WAS admitted.

I support the principle, but the current bill is being fiddled around too much. one of the version was basically amnesty, but the guy putting it through is changing it to be more acceptable. I don't trust the bill because of what they tried to do several days ago, so I hope it fails and some one less radical rewrites a more reasonable bill. What I heard of the original bill was it had no age limit an the person does not have to give any proof that they came here before they were 16. SO anyone can lie their way into being a resident. Politicians like to sneak stuff that are far more abussive into these bills whish is what we saw in the earlier version, and there might be some extra hidden text we haven't found yet. I haven't heard any updates since they put the age limit back in though and they changed the rule about being in-state. I unlike other Anti's do acknowledge that those who were drag here as a kid and lived here for a long time is a victim and we should reduce the trauma of the illegal acts of their parents. We just are afraid that if we let people in your situation in, it might spiral out of control. It might encourage others to bring their children through the hazardous journey to be in America and that people like you would open the door for your family to come in. Like I said, I don't blame you and sympathize, but your parents who was aware that it was illegal is a different story. I hope for your sake that congress will pass a REASONABLE form of the Dream act, so you can stay.

i'm no longer oppose of it till it helps their parents stay. i'm additionally oppose in the event that they are given particular privelege in instructions. As I heard the dream act does no longer help illegalimmigrants financially. there's a topic if unlawful immigrants may be indexed as a resident of the state, because of the fact that state tax does subsidize for state college for citizens.

no to the dream act. read about our tax dollars and how they are being spent on illegals. the million dollars could have done allot for citizens and legal residents educationally or any of a number of things. i'm not college educated however i do grasp the concept of if you divide the pie into too many pieces there is virtually nothing for anyone, especially when the uninvited demand their piece. basic math! by the way if you are paying taxes and going to college you are using someone elses ss#. maybe that's why a lawyer won't help you because you're breaking the law as we speak, identity theft is illegal but i guess that wouldn't matter to you. boy you did learn well at your parents knee. you proved our point! NO, NO, AND NO to the dream act.

I don't support the Dream Act for all the reasons already mentioned above.

But if you want to join the marines and fight for our country for a couple of years--I'll let you become a citizen.

But not on the basis of the Dream Act.

"Education for a better nation."

I fully support it.

Don't come on this piece of crap website asking this. You're only going to get bigots with ignorant answers telling you to go back to a country you don't even remember.

EMPATHY is what they lack. They will never be able to get in your shoes and know how you feel.

No. Your parents are your problem. You've had plenty of time to correct your issue and you didn't. The Dream Act is like a slap in the face to every American citizen and legal immigrant and should not be passed.

I do not support it.
I agree with peanuthead, once you are over 18 and haven't done anything about making yourself legal, then the fault now is yours that you are here illegally.
The DREAM act has far too many loopholes in it. There are no background checks,no proof needed on how long you were here,it is a plan that is is ripe for fraud. A quick path to citizenship and then you are free to bring in all your relatives, including those who have been here illegally for many years. It will encourage more illegal immigration when parents will come here with their children to get in on the benefits.
While I do feel bad for the children who's parents came here illegally,it still amounts to an amnesty and a reward for not following our immigration laws.

No support. Besides it being another amnesty program, there are PLENTY of American citizens who deserve college and who could benefit from programs that could be funded instead of subsidizing the education of illegals. I'd much rather see our own poor and middle class children getting more scholarships and grants or even reduced tuition.
