She murders her husband and claims abuse (as if that is a reason) because he 'made' her where some shoes she did not want to where/because he supposedly criticized her.
She was convicted and let go two months later and is now free and wants custody of her kids.
To me this should be a wake up call to every able minded person that there is something terribly worng with how men are treated. When a woman can get away with murder becasue he was critical and potentially win custody of her kids there is something worng.
Will all the true equalists out there agree with me inthat Mary should have been locked up for life if, not put to death?
If not, do you think that if a man shot his wife in the back with a shotgun, tore the phone line out, and left her there to bleed to death, that he would get away with it because he said she was a nag?

Tera: The difference between OJ and Mary is that OJ had millions of dollars, bought liars as defense attornies, and played the race card. Mary was simply a woman who claimed abuse and got away with murder.

Franzia: Your right I don't know what was going on and neither does anyone else except her and her husband. She had some friends there to repeat some hear-say but there were no facts of abuse at all. That is the problem.

Franzia: OK, so you have your opinion but will you answer the last part of the question? What if a man did this?

After reading the 2 feminists TERA and FRANZIA you cant but think they are either uneducated, delusional or they are here to confuse.
What TERA speaks about is what is well known in the justice system and that is celebrity Justice which is not justice at all.
What FRANZIA is talking about is a falicy that we guys think that because we may hear a couple of silly little things like, a woman being made to wear shoes she did not want to, that that makes her abuse claim rediculous.
It boils down to what people think you can do if you are in an abusive relationship and what this case has clearly shown is if you are in an abusive relationship that it is ok to murder your husband rather than seek help elsewhere.
So the answer to this question is blatant favouritism of women on murder chargers is alive and well as celebrity justice is.

Until equality exists in our society and in our homes, it is hard to call upon it to sort out domestic troubles. I do not think an excuse for murder is domestic violence and/or domestic inequality although I think it is definitely a cause. Mary was able enough to let that relationship drive her to murder so I do not know what would stop her from the next one doing the same, not two months in jail and then getting her kids back.
Murder is murder, she deserves to serve way more time, she also needs to realize that she needed to do some serious mental/emotional changes in her life so that she is not in a situation that would drive her to murder, she needs help (mental).
And about the husband shooting the wife if the situation were exactly reversed I would feel the same thing should happen to him although I do not think the situation reverse occurs as often as our society does not really look well at men staying home in a domestic situation, it just isn't manly enough.
I think that there is something wrong with how men and women are treated as children so that they grow up within roles that are no longer necessary for our society to have. I think we need to retrain ourselves and our society to move in a different more forward thinking fashion as we go into this 21rst Century. A direction that is of equality of treatment for all humans, both sexes and all races.

Andrea Yates and Mary Winkler should be found guilty of Capitol Murder and handed down the appropriate sentence. The Judge that tried the case should be hung by his/her neck until dead. The Judge that gave custody of these poor children to this monster should be given Life in prison. The social workers that were/are involved in the case that recommended that this murderess receive custody of the children should also be given Life in prison. God Bless Frank Pytel

I agree with mary and itisfutile. The OJ comment isn't on the point at all. Weren't we ALL abhorred by that outcome anyway?
Mary's point cuts to the bone of the matter. The claims in these cases often are the woman had no other choice. Murder is not as easy as leaving. Why the disparity in justice exists baffles common sense. Aren't we taught to walk away from a fight in school? Would Columbine be OK if girls instead of boys killed because they were "abused". That is exactly what is being said in this case.

There are only two facts that I am aware of at this stage.
Fact Number 1:
Mary Winkler killed Her Husband, with a shotgun whilst He was asleep.
Fact Number 2:
She served only a short period in prison rather than a life sentence for Her crime.
Point taken?
Anything else is 'hear say'.

In America women are treated better than men. My brother just got a divorce, his wife get to keep both of his kids and he has to pay for child support. The reason for divorce is because she turn lesbian and now living with another woman. She said it herself that my brother was a good husband and a good father but she just change. So if you live in America you just have to accept that. However the rest of the world operate in the opposite way. Just like the rest of the world are using the metric system and America is still using feet and lbs...

Shooting a man while he is sleeping is not self-defense, regardless of the allegations of abuse. It doesn't matter if he made her eat dog food and put a collar around her neck. She was obviously free to walk out of the house since he was asleep before she shot him, so she wasn't acting in self-defense, it is murder. She should have never been let out to walk a free woman again.

Blatant favoritism of women? I'm not so sure about that. What about O.J. Simpson getting away with jealously (and savagely) stabbing to death his ex-wife? What about police brutality? Your right, there IS something wrong with our criminal justice system when people get away with such things. You can't exactly blame feminism for it. If anything, the blame lies with the corruption that occurs when money is a driving force and power comes with having a lot of money. It also occurs because there are some people in positions of authority that seriously misuse and abuse their authority (and get away with it.) There are many cases of serious injustice, and it's not just toward men, it's toward women, toward blacks, toward the poor, and toward children. This issue affects most all of us, and it is one that society needs to resolve. Just be careful what you attribute to feminism. Feminism didn't cause this. Feminism (alone) can't cure it. We all need to work together to correct this issue- for the benefit of us all.

You're massively oversimplifying and reducing something that is very complex (abuse) into "making the woman wear some shoes." No. Abuse consists of far more than "making someone wear some shoes." Do we KNOW the details? Probably not. I can assure you there was more going on than that he "made her wear some shoes this one night." You guys always pick out these random isolated incidents and make it sound like it's the whole of the abuse, and you're hilariously wrong.
Recently a (non-white) woman was beaten and raped in the hallway outside her apartment in an apartment building as various people walked by. None of them called the police until about two hours later. Does this case act as a wake-up call to every able-minded person that there is something terribly wrong with the way women are treated? http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_235160844.html .
You cannot generalize from one ridiculous obsessively covered media story that "all women are able to get away with murdering their husbands for making them wear shoes." Can I generalize from the case where the cute white college girl got abducted and killed in Jamaica or wherever the ***** in the West Indies that all Jamaicans are abductors? Quit getting outraged over random isolated events.
It's not like religious men, and especially preachers, are widely known for being particularly tolerable, anyway.
