It depends on what you want.
The girl you like as a friend will be more relaxed and fun.
On the other hand asking the girl you like but don't know will give you the chance to get to know her better. You can still have fun,but it will be kind of awkward at first.
You need to ask soon or you'll go to homecoming without either one.

Go with your friend and don' t waste an opportunity by getting into new territory on such a memorable occasion. If the other person turned you down, you might miss a very important night in your HS days.
You can fall out of love if you are in love but if you love someone, you can't fall out of love. That love will continue forever.

it's always good to meet new people and find out who they are...so I would take the chance to ask the girl you like. Besides, if she declines, you can always ask your friend.
