2. Know Thyself
3. Aid Friends
4. Control Anger
5. Shun Unjust Acts
6. Acknowledge Sacred Things
7. Hold on to Learning

13. When You Err, Repent
14. Consider the Time

The 10 commandments were given to the Israelites under the law of Moses. That old law has now been replaced by the New Testament. (Romans 7 and following, Hebrews 8, Colossians 2, et al.) God had promised a new covenant. "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah." (Jeremiah 31:31) That New Covenant, the New Testament, came into effect when Jesus died on the cross and rose again. Hebrews 9:15-17 says, "And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth." The New Testament is now in effect and clearly says, "Let no man judge you... regarding... Sabbaths." (Colossians 2:16, NKJV) Also, according to Jesus, the second greatest commandment of all is, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:39) This command, however, is not found in the 10 Commandments! The 10 Commandments are in Exodus 20. This command came from Leviticus 19:18. The point is, there is more to obeying God than keeping the 10 Commandments! The old law, including the 10 commandments has been replaced by a better covenant, the New Testament! As proof, consider Romans 7 which speaks of our freedom from the old law to be "married to another". Verse 7, speaking of this old law, says "I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." "Thou shall not covet" is directly from the 10 commandments, therefore, this "law" that was replaced included the 10 commandments! 9 of the 10 commandments are repeated in the New Testament, so we keep them, not because they were in the old law, but because they are part of the new law! Remember the Sabbath (the seventh day of the week) is not repeated, therefore we are freed from that command. Instead, the New Testament Christians worshiped "on the first day of the week" (Sunday) (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor. 16:1-2)

No, I don't really ever try. It's no effort on my part to avoid murdering anyone. When I was Christian, I was younger and, therefore, lied more. I have more respect and less for my parents now that I'm an adult and can comprehend the choices and struggles they have made/gone through.
1-5 I pretty much don't even bother with. I think I stole some gum when I was 4 or 5...that's all I can remember. And, I'm not married so I can say, even though I am definitely not a virgin, I have never committed adultery.

Those are the old ones here are the new ones:

The Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didnt's"
I'd really rather you didn't act like a sanctimonious holier-than-thou *** when describing my noodly goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really, I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject.

I'd really rather you didn't use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don't require sacrifices, and purity is for drinking water, not people.

I'd really rather you didn't judge people for the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they talk, or, well, just play nice, Okay? Oh, and get this into your thick heads: woman = person. man = person. Samey = Samey. One is not better than the other, unless we're talking about fashion and I'm sorry, but I gave that to women and some guys who know the difference between teal and fuchsia.

I'd really rather you didn't indulge in conduct that offends yourself, or your willing, consenting partner of legal age AND mental maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is go f*** yourself, unless they find that offensive in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk for a change.

I'd really rather you didn't challenge the bigoted, misogynistic, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat, then go after the b*******.

I'd really rather you didn't build multi million-dollar churches/temples/mosques/shrines to my noodly goodness when the money could be better spent (take your pick):
Ending poverty
Curing diseases
Living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable
I might be a complex-carbohydrate omniscient being, but I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I AM the creator.

I'd really rather you didn't go around telling people I talk to you. You're not that interesting. Get over yourself. And I told you to love your fellow man, can't you take a hint?
I'd really rather you didn't do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are into, um, stuff that uses a lot of leather/lubricant/Las Vegas. If the other person is into it, however (pursuant to #4), then have at it, take pictures, and for the love of Mike, wear a CONDOM! Honestly, it's a piece of rubber. If I didn't want it to feel good when you did it I would have added spikes, or something.

Um I follow some. I follow 1,2,6,7,8, and 10. I know that bad. I should try to do better. I have been working on #5. I don't mean to fo number 3 but that doesn't make it any better.
I do love Jesus even if I don't always do what is right. I am saved by the grace of God! YAY JESUS!

Homeland Security is right. We only have 2 commandments, But people should still follow those 10 up there! YAY JESUS!

Yes.

There are actually three versions of the Ten Commandments, Jewish, Catholic (and Lutheran), and Protestant taken from Exodus Chapter 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy Chapter 5:6-21.

With the new revelations of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in the early Catholic Church, a slightly different emphasis was placed on different commandments.

Then 1500 years later, the Protestant in objecting to certain Catholic practices, once again changed the emphasis of the Ten Commandments.

6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.

10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

1. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. 2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain
3. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; in it, you shall not do any work.
4. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10. You shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, or his ox, or his ***, or anything that is your neighbor's.

I'm a Christian. We have only two commandments:

Mat 22:36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

To follow the 10 commandments you must give up the Polytheistic Trinity concept.

Sorry.

The Jewish punishment for believing in the Trinity is decapitation.

Google it.
