If you are just trying to open a single file, you can use the "open" command under the "file" menu. If you are trying to insert one image into another image, you have to open them both, then using either the wand, marquee, lasso, or crop tools cut out the image you want to add. Then select it and copy or cut (cntrl C or cntrl X). Then switch to the image you want to add it into and hit paste (cntrl V). You can then adjust position with the move tool, as the added image will be on its own layer. Hope that helps!

If you have it saved in your computer like in "My Pictures" or something, in photoshop go to file > open > browse for your picture. If your going to get the picture from like Google or Yahoo or AskJeevs. . . right-click on the picture and choose "Copy", go to photoshop (Adobe) click file > new. A empty white box appears. Click on edit > paste (from the menu bar)

Open both at the same time. Go into the one with the piece you want to pickup, outline it with magnetic lasso, and drag it onto the other one with Move command. After it is in the right place on that second photo, click onto the Arrow key to lock it in place.

Open a saved image - File -> Open.
You can also copy an image from elsewhere (such as a web page), then open a new image (Ctrl-N) and paste it in.

Are you looking for something specific?
