a screwy religion, or isn't it? (As if we didn't know the answer to that.)

Sounds about right...God loves everyone, yet still sends people to Hell, Jesus dies so EVERYONE is forgiven, but you are sent to Hell if you don't believe in Him...so, where's the fairness in that? What omnipotent God would want His creations that he supposedly loves go to Hell? If or if not his "children" believe in him or not...I'd rather rebel against a god like that, than worship, but that's just me....

Ah.. there's how you can tell that what is being taught to us in inacurate. Yes, God loves us. He does not send us to Hell. There is no hell. Man gives us that guilt trip by teaching us that Jesus dies a horrible death for our sins. Religion has a way of manipulating us by using fear and guilt.

There is nothing to forgive because we can not hurt or harm God. What is there to forgive ? He loves us not matter what.

Jesus was nailed to the cross because the people were afraid of him, and what the potential of his fame and power over the people.

And religion took the opportunity to use that scene to scare man and put fear and guilt into their hearts.. another tool for them to use religion to control and manipulate the masses.

well if you feel you know the truth then why ask? God does loves us and Jesus did bare our sins but we have to still meet Him half way. we have to except the gift of grace. just like if you need a job, you cant sit at home thinking its gonna fall in your lab you have to look for a job. you want Jesus, seek Him. He's not gonna put Himself on anyone.

actually no that's wrong.
where a person spends eternity is entirely up to them. That's the benefit of free will. God gave us free will, and he's not going to interfere with our choices.
God loves us. We send ourselves to hell by rejecting that love.
Jesus died so that we are forgiven (and don't have to go to hell)... but if you reject him, then you go to hell. (hell is eternal seperation from God).

According to the word, "By your words you'll be acquitted and by your words you'll be condemned."
which means, your own words testify against you when you stand before God.
Hell was not created for us, but by sinning and disobeying God's word (and commands) we assigned ourselves the same punishment, and eternal destiny as those it was created for. God set a law. He said, "dont do this." Man broke that law. (essentially saying "why not, what will really happen if i do?")
As transgression of the law dictates consequences, so the enforcement of those consequences needs to stand otherwise there'd be chaos. You cannot escape consequences, not in this world, or the world hereafter (i.e., eternity). So therefore, God being the just and holy guy that he is, ordered a punishment (a consequence) for the transgression of the law. This was necessary, just as it is necessary in this life that rapists and murderers go to jail. BUT, being the loving guy that he is, he took that punishment upon himself. (i.e., the cross). Now that wasnt HIS punishment, as he's God and is holy and never sinned. It wasnt for his benefit as his 'soul' isn't the one in jeporday - He's God; it was ours; so he did that for our sake. AND he gave us a choice, life or death, blessing or curse, heaven or hell. He didnt make us robots forcing us to believe in him, he gave us a choice. Either do or dont, it's up to you. So, during this whole course of life.... we are provided countless chances to accept his GIFT of grace (his death on the cross, for our sake; IS MERCY we don't deserve) with the knowledge that accepting it leads to forgiveness and eternal life. We may reject it if we choose, but then, if we are so foolish to do that.... we basically are choosing Hell. So just as choosing to break the law (i.e, stealing, murder, rape et cetera and things either more or less wicked ) is a choice to end up in jail, so rejecting Christ is the choice to go to hell. Break the law - go to jail. Break Gods law - Go to hell. it's the same principle. So therefore, our destinies are of our own making.

So no, it's not so screwy. And most that think so don't know what they're talking about. God does not send anyone to hell. People send themselves. Each one of us as free will and a choice. We choose where we go for eternity. Jesus is the only way into heaven so.... if you don't choose him, you are choosing hell.
That's logical, not screwy.

*edit* there are a thousand ways to go to hell, but only one way to go to heaven. Thanks but.... i'll choose that one way and take my chances being called a screwball.....♥ them's better odds....... *smiles* ♥

What?
God loves everyone, and he sent Jesus to die for your sins so that you can go to heaven...not hell.

God never designed hell for humans.

Jesus died for "our" sins, meaning no "we're" not supposed to go to hell. But "we" are supposed to repent anything "we" do. If you willingly turn your back on God (Yahweh, Jehovah), you'll go to hell as well.

I don't believe in Hell, and Yahweh nor Jehovah are my gods.

You can't recieve the eternal gift of life unless you except it. God loves you, but he can't MAKE you love him. Unless you love God and except the gift of eternal life then you won't be recieving it.

Salvation is a gift.
By definition, a gift is merely an offering until it is received.
Salvation is offered to all.
Only some receive the gift.
