Let me get this straight. You have a handful of owners, all of which are willing to allow their drivers to go and test for other teams except for Teresa. That is not being smart on her part. The other owners won't forget it and you never know when you may need their cooperation in the future. If you have another hot young driver like Truex moving up the ranks, they may also think about the way this whole thing played out. Honestly, if you were being sought after by 4-5 top teams, would you go to work for DEI? This whole thing will come back to haunt her.

Could be, but who cares? He'll be outta there and testing when the season is over. He's still under contract with DEI and shouldn't be worrying about anything but finishing this season's races. Just because he isn't in the chase doesn't mean he should give up now. He still has the chance to win a race. It wouldn't say very much to me as an owner, if Jr. didn't dedicate his full attention to the contract he is obligated to.

Teresa just lost her meal ticket. If she was content with being the silent partner Jr. would he there today. She's just greedy. Although Rest his soul I put the real blame on Dale Senior for not having a will that put his son as the controling majority for DEI. The whole thing is really sad..

Well she is in charge of DEI & it's her decision. So much talk about Earnhardt Jr, but the bottom line, he's not that great of a driver. Truex Jr has done fine, so what's Jr's problem. It's not her fault he can't drive.

She would not be getting anything out of the deal. Next year, Jr. will be getting all of the testing that he wants and more. He has always said he don't like testing anyway.

It's a conflict of interest, plus his crew chief with hendrick next year is Eury Jr., the same guy as this year. If eury's not there which he definately can't be, then what's the point. They already know how they each operate.

JMO - this is an out of line question. How can she have a "case of sour grapes" when she never says anything, never goes to the track and let's everyone else run DEI? She is an absent owner. She does not know anything about racing and certainly nothing about running a business!

I do.
The real bad guy is really the Dad he should have left Jr. more in his company then he did and all of this would not have happen.

Its her call, not only does it hurt Jr, but it also is going to set his team back for next year. DEI doesnt have the problem with its drivers, so its an advantage that she has. Smart move on her part, it honestly is.

this is an example of what happens when stepparents are put in charge of the estate. Seriously. Any rift gets hella worse when the biological parent is gone and the wicked stepmother or stepdad gets their way at last......
