yes...i have been with my husband since high school...and while we were still in school we did have a break up for a period of almost a month....and after we got back together everything was great and much better...we realized while we were apart that we were happier together...and we got married after school and have been great ever since. if you are having trouble in your relationship, this could be the last chance effort that can help you out (if everything else has failed). and if it doesn't work then, maybe you guys wern't meant to be after all.

It happens all of the time, people take a break and then realize just how much they care for the other person. The time away from each other makes you realize your true feelings and if yours are stronger that is a good thing - end the break.

Breaks are good but not to long because you do become confused and sometimes you become acustomed to the breaks and do not even really know what you feel for the person and sometimes the person can just be a bad habit.

In fact I have. However my 'break' is a bit different. He went for oversea studies for nearly a year. And thats where the lonelyness kicks in, I'm constantly missing his presence which I'm so use to it and so does he. By the time he came back, we're closer to each other than ever. Closer by heart i mean...

Yep, it wasn't clear where the whole 'taking a break' thing was going at the start.

It's hardly a thought everyone will entertain, one has to be convincing to the other - it will create many questions and discussion.

Good luck

Yes. My bf and I were living together and I told him that I would like him to make a decision whether he wanted me for a wife or not. If not, then we would go our separate ways. We went our separate ways for 2 wks then he proposed marriage and we had 34 happy years before he passed last year.

Nope, everytime when I said to my ex that let's take a break actually was the time I planned to call it quit, but just think that is a gentle way.

No. We took a break and I met someone else and got pregnant in a month and screwed up my whole life and ended up in a mess.

It worked for my Mom and stepfather. 25 years together now but the 1 year gap showed that they wanted each other for real. If I hadn't seen it my cynical answer would be no.
