Why, if he created "us" for no other reason than as a child is created, or for pleasure, has this occurred?

because gods were created by people...people who projected their own egos and neediness into the silly stories that other people ate up and turned into religions

Believe it or not, science can prove and will prove God, but it's a primitive culture that thinks it the other way around--
that God is obvious and there couldn't be proof for it.
that it's well within the limits of the human brain to have an idea of God when in fact there's something like 24 ideas to the universe.
Even an idea is still 2-3(4 technically) steps behind God.
An idea lends to a fact of life.
The 12 facts of life lend to the 9 principles.
A principle is REALLY as high as it goes.
As a principle you witness 100k entire verses.
It takes for 1 verse to complete itself for you to exist as a fact of life.
It takes 115 incarnations to exist as an idea.
The role in that last incarnation is crucial to the development of a verse. It's the pleasure of the pain that is the burden of higher ideals and idea(s).
God is so non-attainable. Most people would appreciate this, but no:--> willful cretin humans want it "all or nothin' baby!".
oh btw read my profile you might accidentally discover the formula for this thing you call "god".

He doesn't need pleasure, but He can be pleased with His children. But the pleasure of God is not the pleasure of men and is ultimately beyond our capacity to explain with words like "pleasure".

I'm not sure where you are getting you answers. Biblically speaking, God in Himself needs nothing. He is completely perfect, happy, content, and good.
God created man so that God should show man His attributes, and thus receive Glory for who He is. It is a way in which God can show others who He is and allow them to appreciate Him.
God needs no pleasure. All pleasure and all that is Good comes FROM God.

I dont believe in god however, based on the fact that I get bored outa my mind at times and I have but a blink of existence... imagine eternity. If there is a god I am convinced we are merely toys he forgot about in the sandbox.

God doesn't "need" anything. But He does enjoy many things, such as having our love and obedience. He is like an earthly father in that he gets happiness from our love and devotion.

First of all, God does not need, or require anything from us. It is man who makes these assumptions that he does. Do you really think you can hurt his feelings ? He can create anything out of nothing.. what makes man think that God needs anything or something from man ?

God doesn't NEED anything from us but he likes to fellowship with us. He doesn't NEED to have fellowship with us but he enjoys fellowship with us. Just like your own parents, they didn't NEED to have children, they could have survived just fine without them but they wanted you any way.

You would think that if he can feel pleasure he could also feel emotional pain and the thought of his children suffering eternally in hell would bother him.
