What implications does a reversal of the earth's magnetic field have versus global warming? What would happen if the magnetic field reverses before global warming effects occur. How should the US spend its resources - more on global warming or more on preparing for a magnetic reversal?

Cyclical warming and cooling world wide are an interplay of worldwide systems. It has been theorized that If a magnetic field reversal were to happen a cooling period would insue. It has also been suggested that a warming trend might be a precursor to a new worldwide ice age.

And we haven't even discussed cosmic events (solar flare, coronal mass ejections et cetra) that influence the weather worldwide.

Natural intervention by humans (natural animals) may not be the major factor in global warming. The short period of observation being used may be too short to make accurate projections of the system or systems involved in the cyclical climatological changes of global cooling and heating.

Many do believe magnetic field reversal may be a catalyst to climatic change.

At present, the overall geomagnetic field is becoming weaker at a rate which would, if it continues, cause the dipole field to temporarily collapse by 3000–4000 AD.

I don't think we have anything to fear from it since it will happen about 2000 years from now...

Global Warming will effect us in 50-100 years. Plus there is something we can do about Global Warming , Geomagnetic Reversal we do not have a chance of affecting that.

The magnetic fields have in no way flipped. the theory that they have (and could back) are born from measuring the variations in tiers of magnetic fields and and saying the improved measurements propose a container in a single direction and a weaker one ability a destructive container. through that "good judgment", this is like lining a gaggle of folk up and saying the tallest ones are genuinely tall and saying the shorter ones are negatively tall - like 5'2" INTO the floor! i've got seen not something to connect any dots of magnetic fields and climate structures.

There is one important difference between global warming and magnetic pole reversals. There may actually be something we can do about global warming. There is nothing we could do about a magnetic pole reversal.

Not really. There was a sort of occultist theory back in the day that when the pole flipped the climate flipped. The geologic record shows all the shifts and the record contradicts that old theory. I'd worry more about Atlantis rising from the sea and shooting us with ray guns than I would about that.
