bruxism, or grinding your teeth at night is an inherited trait, has nothing to do with dreams or stress. It wears down teeth and damages dental work, so if bruxism is a problem for you or someone you know, I suggest a bite guard, you can get them in drug stores now.

see write down your days see I do it when I am stressed and i have severe TMJ and i used to grind my teeth all the time I have a custume guard made because i chewed through especially while finals where going on or state boards all other and i am in the field I do notice my jaw locks when my days are more stress full then others I havent heard about it being inherited nobody in my family does it so who know but try the one in the store first and see if it does help then you know

It's probably just a habit of gritting your teeth. It could very well be stress though, Either way..go to your dentist, they can make a shield for you to keep from grinding your teeth away. Good luck hon.
