If god doesn't need me, or mankind, as many of you believers have suggested, then why did "he" create us.

Ok...I see that the gist is for "god's pleasure" or something like that. Why does he need pleasure?

Eh, who knows. This song is great.

I put in a link to youtube, John Prine singing "Big Old Goofy World". I got an error message. It wouldn't let me post the link. That is an unappreciated first. Bummer.

For His own purposes to display His mercy and wrath in the heavenly realm.

You are part of the creation, and truly it is not a great idea to question the creator, but I guess I really wasn't looking to you for a great idea, so, go figure.

I've forgotten the answer. I was wondering why any being who was already existent and perfect, would create anything. Lonely and/or bored don't really fit in with the definition of perfect.

God created mankind to have fellowship with Him. Our sin has separated us from God, and only through Jesus Christ can we have a relationship/fellowship with God

For His pleasure

Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Isa 66:1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven [is] my throne, and the earth [is] my footstool: where [is] the house that ye build unto me? and where [is] the place of my rest?

For His own pleasure. He did not create us for us but for Him the same as His creation of angels, etc.

When you create something, it is not because we need it. It could be for our own enjoyment. God loves us. She created us in His own image and likeness. He enjoys our company. We are an extention of Him. An almighty deity does not need or want anything other than for his own enjoyment , love or passion.

We created ourselves. Like i said in your last question, if God wanted worshippers He would have made Himself a bunch and refused them to have any will of their own, but original sin is what separated us from Him and you take any man now and put him in the same position as Adam, that man would have ignored God as well and did what pleased himself and not God.
