That's 1920s slang, it means that something is really great-or Totally Awesome!

The bee's knees was an expression from the 20's. It was basically a compliment.

Expression from the 1920's. It meant "that's cool". They also said things like "that's the cats meow". Two generations before me but I heard those expressions as a kid growing up. Still doesn't make any sense to me.
