For the sake of the question, I will pose that god exists. Knowing that some aspects of mankind require god to exist, I ask the opposite...does a god need mankind? Why?

I can't imagine why.

The whole worship thing really does not do it for me...a supernatural, all powerful being surely does not need "worship," hell, I'm human and someone worshipping me would be just creepy.

From a Dungeons and Dragons aspects, YES a god does need human followers. Hheheee that is how it gets its 'god points' so it can do all the things it does that makes it a god. The MORE people either fearing or revering it the more primal points it gets.

From a New Age perspective, god would be NOT a THING (aka nothing or SPIRIT), in contrast to being a THING or idol. One could theorize that a big ol' ball of energy that really has no form or definition in a way needs some 'form' so it don't go drifting off into nothingness.

Though from a 'child' or 'lamb' of god aspect, one really could even guess as to the nature or mentality of a god.
Ecc 8:17 then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it.

For the sake of this answer, I will suppose that God exists too.
Well Karl Jung described mankind as God's vanity, ie He created us so that there would be someone to admire His handywork.
I doubt He needs us, but if this is true then I imagine He really likes having us about.

No, God exists separatly from us, He does not need us at all for anything. Even worship doesn't mean anything to Him otherwise He would have created the Garden of Eden without a tree and just made a bunch of people out of clay and have them mindlessly worship Him. We exist because we wanted to. He gave us the option... you take any man alive right now and replace him with Adam, and that man too would have decided the same Adam did. We are our own consequence.

Great question. My opinion God only created us as an experiment to see what his creation can do. Actually he doesn't he is an all powerful God why would he need mankind. This supernnatural stuff gets more and more confusing to me.

Nope. Because God existed before man. God did exist at one time without man. Therefor He does not require us in order to exist. But since he loves us humans so much, Hes kept us around.

Another way to answer this question is like this: God transcends this universe, all dimensions, and even time. We do not. So he is all powerful no matter what. And he will exist with or without us.

Apparently. Man builds His character through story-telling. Since there were many different authors over time, that's why God has such a bi-polar character.
