I see christians constantly condemning homosexuality by referring to the "vile acts they commit", but do they ever think of those who have never commited such acts and still consider themselves homosexual?

Of course it is. In fact in asking most Christians that hold this prejudice they'll say that it is the sexual activity that is sinful, not just being gay.

And actually a couple of the qualifiers for an "addiction", are that is disrupts your ability to live a healthy productive life, and that it is harmful to either yourself or someone else.

Alcoholism is an addictive or disruptive behavior. Homosexuality is not. It is possible to be homosexual and live a healthy normal life. And in normal circumstances no one is hurt in a homosexual relationship anymore than someone in a heterosexual relationship is. It is not possible to have a healthy productive life and be an alcoholic, drug addict, sex addict etc.

The fact that there are people that will try to make your life miserable because you are homosexual doesn't really count as "a disruptive life". And in all honesty you must admit that there are plenty of healthy happy homosexual relationships out there. They are no more liable to be unhealthy than you average hetero couple. You cannot use certain people's prejudices and fears to qualify homosexuality as an addictive behavior.

And remember, it is YOUR religion that has declared homosexuality to be unhealthy. Not every person belongs to your faith or any other that has this prohibition. And even those who do do not share your beliefs. The best you can say is "I cannot be homosexual, I believe that it is an unhealthy behavior. But you cannot say the same for everyone in creation.

Yes, it is possible. I consider myself gay because I'm attracted to men and men only, but I'm a virgin.

However, you do make a very good point. I guess codemning homosexuality for such reasons is unreasonable because they are assuming that all gays are "committing vile acts."

Yes. Homosexuality is a preference, not just an act. Similarly, heterosexuality is a preference, not just an act.

I happen to think that the preference in either case is not a personal choice, but something genetically coded.

To be defined a homosexual does not confine or limit itself to sex or being a virgin. It is like asking if a "straight" person is heterosexual even if he or she is a virgin. Sexuality has nothing to do with being a virgin or not. It is how you feel inside and what draws you to that person.

And yes, heterosexuals also commit vile acts. Christians sometimes do not know what they are talking about.

Of course it is- your attraction for someone can exist without ever physically acting upon.

If it is possible to be heterosexual and still a virgin, then it is equally possible for a homosexual person to be the same.

christianity is not the B all end all of everything...depite what they say (preach). And they are known to condemn anything that does not meet with their approval, be it homosexuality or not. But yes, a person is a virin until they committ and act of anything....in this case a sex act.

Just as there are heterosexuals who choose never to have sex, it's very possible for a homosexual to make the same choice.

Being attracted to a person sexually and acting upon it are two very different issues.

I think that it is quite possible for a homosexual person to be a virgin. After all there are straight people that go their entire lives as virgins.
