When Bernie Schwarz/Loral got permission from the Clinton administration to transfer missile technology to China it gave them the ability to rain warheads down on the entire continental USA as well as shootdown satellites. The mysterious "New" university board Schwarz serves on included Hsu, and figures at the center of the Clinton Chinagate scandal. Hsu and Hochberg/Lillian Vernon Co. have made a lot of interesting campaign donations but not on party lines, one wonders what they got for their money? See

No quarter to pols of either party here, but at least Abramoff was buying influence for Americans, not foreign countries with missiles pointed at us. We need to demand better ethics not better loopholes or excuses. Read the list at spreadsheet.

Because Jack Abramoff was close to the Republican leadership - like Tom Delay, and directly influenced policy.

Hsu was just a guy who loved to spread money around and didn't ask for any political favors, except to get his name in the paper. And in any event, Clinton, Obama and others quickly returned his largesse.

Total non event, IMO. The GOP is just fishing for nothing here, and frankly, they have bigger problems to worry about than this thing.

OH, and BTW, the Loral thing is totally overblown in terms of the technology that was supposedly transferred to China. I worked in the satellite industry and there wasn't much in the info that could be used to "shoot down" satellites.

The Hsu scandal isn't as big because the MSM doesn't consider Democratic scandals to be newsworthy. Of course you have to also recall that at least 38 Democrats were involved in the Abramoff payoffs and that bit of information never seemed to get reported.
