All signs point to "no".
What was his reaction when your friend popped the question? Was he around his friends and didn't want to look weird? Did he laugh, smile, roll his eyes back in his head? Did he stammer?
Chances are he was caught off guard. I would give him a clean slate, give it a week and then go and talk to him personally - make a joke about what your friend did and then have the balls to ask him to a movie or something.

it's either he is really into to you but he is just too shy to say it since you just told your friends to ask him out for you... or he is just not really in the mood to go out with you. he just said this line so as not to offend you. maybe he wouldve really answered you with a different line if you were the one who asked him out personally. he might have gotten offended by your move,asking your friends and all. ...
you can never really tell if someone likes you unless you talk to him first hand and not through other people. try to ask him out on your own. maybe, you'll get the real deal with him and maybe you'll find out what he really meant when he said he'll think about it. good luck! =)

It sounds as though going out with you was not something he had thought about before, but he didn't just immediately reject the idea. Maybe he likes to do the asking. You obviously don't! But you should.

Most likely he will say no because they dont want u 2 feel bad by sayin no and he most likely he will have his friend say no because he dont want to be mean

he was being nice to her and didn't want to tell her no even though he wanted to. he's not interested in her. but don't let that stop you from talking to him. he could be into you. you'll regret it if you hesitate!
