I've had a recurring dream of flying ever since I was a little kid and it seems to keep coming back at 'meaningful' moments in my life. I started out flying on a jet-bike (like in Star Wars) when I was youngest, then afterwards as I grew older, I levitate as if in zero gravity environment, and afterwards, variations of levitation and flying. Sometimes I take off effortlessly, sometimes I have to jump a bit like Neo does. Sometimes I fly away from some form of danger, others I simply fly for the sheer joy of it. And all of it had been very lucid. Felt too good to be true, but while dreaming it felt utterly real to me. The joy is indescribable. "I think I can fly!" - Peter Petrelli.

To dream that you are a superhero, indicates your above-average talents, ideas, and abilities you may not yet have realized you possessed, also a desire for power and recognition may be indicated. If you are flying with ease and enjoying the scene and landscape below, then it suggests that you are on top of a situation. You have risen above something. The vividness you describe is called "lucid dreaming". Often you can learn to control what happens in this type of dream. The ability to control your flight as superman is representative of your own personal sense of power. These are all generalizations and common themes, but

i dont know, but when i have dreams of being able to fly or have other superpowers its always really clumsy, like if i fly then my feet drag or i just hover for a few seconds and then crash. one time it was like the air was water, i could still breathe but i could swim through it and it was only for me.
