I have just purchased a transmission mount for my 1995 toyota pickup.I noticed that there is a bolt that goes through (from bottom to top) the middle of the mount it's self, with a nut on the other side (top) of the mount.

Doe anyone know how far to screw, or how to set this bolt?

What is the reason for this bolt?

If I remember right, this bolt has a rubber bushing on it so it allows some movement between the transmission and the mount. Just tighten it snugly but not so much that it squishes the rubber. It should have a lock-nut on it. If not, use some lock-tite so it doesn't work its way loose.

You don't want the transmission to be mounted rigidly to the truck. You want to let it move a little bit. The engine mounts have rubber inserts in them too, so when you shift gears and get on and off the throttle, the whole engine/transmission/transfer case combo (which ARE bolted rigidly together) twists a little bit.

Hate to tell you this, but you bought a Falsified-Titled Truck. There's no such thing as a '95 Pickup. '94 was the LAST model year. There are people EVERYWHERE claiming that they have a '95, but not a SINGLE ONE OF THEM has the Paperwork to back it up.

As for that bolt, I have no idea what it does, and since it doesnt appear to do ANYTHING, really, then I dont even worry about it.
