-viding health care for the united states? sounds like a social program to me. seems a shame to ignore your own country over people who basically don't like americans. when libs talk about government sponsored health care as a right for all americans, why is that greeted with so much animosity? maybe if cons thought that being deprived of health care was a terrorist conspiracy, then they could be patriotic and get behind it?

Yawn. Yeah right.

The cons are trying to help a country that had been brutalized by a dictator for decades. This whole thing would have been over by now if the French, Russians and Germans hadn't so in bed with Hussein that they didn't want to help pacify the country.

Onto socialized medicine. So 45,000,000 people don't have their own health insurance. Find me some statistics before you fly off half-******. Of those who don't have insurance, how many are covered by medicare and or medicaid? Then find out how many are self-insured.

Then find out how many would rather spend their money on other things while they are young and plan to get the insurance when they are older. I don't want my tax dollars to go for a national health tax which won't let me choose my own care, because people want to spend their money on other things.

And oh by the way, I have an example. I heard a doctor on the radio who treated a lady in the emergency room. She doesn't have insurance or a physician. Was is because she could not afford it? No. She got sick ON A CARIBBEAN CRUISE. She wants to spend her money that way, why should my tax dollars go for her health so she can spend her money on fun? It shouldn't. She made her choice.

Give the stats and convince me. Sure, lets take care of the truly needy. But do not make this whole thing another federal program that wastes buckets of money. Remember Johnson's Great Society and War on Poverty? We have spent BILLIONS on social programs which were to end poverty. How has that government handout worked so far? And now you want to have another one?

A definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. We make federal program after program, and the problems never seem to go away. Remember the Roman Empire. Where are they?

Politicians get almost as much money from the Heathcare industry as they do the Oil industry, if not more. It seems to me anyone that is against cheaper and more accessable healthcare is the enemy here. Until the lobbyist machine is completely killed off from our politicial system, the madness will continue. Free or Cheap Heathcare=The end to the biggest money troft there is.

Socialize health care, in effect a program run by the Government. Do you really want your health care requirements being decided by the Federal Government?

I didn't know that we were trying to institute national health care for Iraq. I thought our purpose was to assist them with obtaining basic freedoms, such as freedom of speech, and not having to fear that one's tongue will be cut out, or freedom of religion, without fear of being gassed to death. The purpose of government is not to provide healthcare to people who don't wish to earn a living. You are comparing two things that aren't the same, as there is no push to provide socialized medicine for Iraq.
