I try reading school assignments. That is usually boring enough that I will start to fall asleep. I also like to lay on the end of the bed when I watch tv at night with a blanket over me and the room is nice and cold. Something about a cold room and a blanket on top of you and getting really comfortable that makes me sleepy.
I dislike football - so watching that REALLY, REALLY makes me sleepy!!!!!

Listening to my Elvis music helps me to fall asleep. So maybe your favorite singers music will help you. Sometimes I read or watch tv and get sleepy. I have listened to relaxing tapes to relax your muscles etc. Don't drink caffene drinks before you go to bed. That will keep you up. Don't do anything too active before bedtime. Tv may not help you if you are real interested in the show====find a boring thing on tv and force yourself to watch it and it will probably put you to sleep fast.

The scent of lavender is known to calm and encourage sleep. Reading a boring story helps. Sewing or knitting is a good activity. Stuff like that.

I ussualy just take a long hot bath to relax me and then get a really good book and read a chapter or two and then see if that will help you sleep.

What i do is i take a hot shower and then i go into my room i dim the lights and i put on my click which has these natur sounds like waterfalls and rainfall i turn that on anf laydown it helps me relax!

Sometimes I listen to some soft music, such as classical ect.
I also sometimes read a magazine or book for a while. As long as the activity you do is relaxing and quiet. (like reading or listening to music)

exercise, meditate, read, write a letter, a glass of wine, close my eyes and starting thinking of good things like a day in the sun. hope this helps. good luck.
