Sanctuary cities and ICE?

Over the course of the last year, many innocent people have been killed at the hands of illegal aliens who believe they can come to our country, live here and do whatever they please. Obviously, this applies to only a small percent of the illegal population, but most of these crimes are done in "sanctuary cities," cities with governments who do not report illegal criminals.
Just this past week, a good hardworking Phoenix police officer with a wife and kids tried to stop an illegal alien with a revolver from getting to a schoolyard full of children. He was shot and killed. This criminal I believe had a record.
The solution to this problem is simple: If a criminal who is illegally here is found to be such by the police, ICE is to be alerted within 48 hours, and the criminals name will be entered into a data base, so that if he comes back here again (because clearly we can't secure our own borders), cities know about him. Am I right?

When I started in Law Enforcement back in 2001, it was very rare for INS (now ICE) to come pick up an illegal if you were holding them. We'd always call them and they were always busy with something else.

Last week, I pulled over a car. The driver gave me a bogus license, I hooked him up. Took him to jail. He bonded out. Before he left, detention called ICE. ICE said they will pick him up. 2 days later, ICE showed up and carted him off.

I was amazed. In speaking with other officers, this seems to be happening more and more often.

I have nothing against the average illegal alien. But we do have laws in this country, and they should not be allowed to break them.

You have a point, however those crimes aren't just committed in sanctuary cities. Many of the criminal element commit those crimes in other cities, then flee to a sanctuary city and change ID's.
It's not just ICE, but the courts as well. A police officer was shot in Rogers, AR by an illegal alien during a drug investigation. The illegal alien was turned over to ICE who transported her to a court in TN. The judge accepted her offer of voluntary deportation and released her contigent on her departure from the US. She never reported back to her home nation as required and police in Rogers believe she simply moved elsewhere and changed her identity.
They shouldn't be released until returned to their home nations. All deported should be added to the fingerprint data-base AFIS and the DNA data-base prior to deportation.
Sanctuary cities should be harshly sanctioned for their non-compliance with federal law. They are not serving citizens' best interests in regards to public safety.

Hate to say it but it's going to have take something big to shake this Gov up>The Sanctuary cities are going to have there day when it blows up in there face allowing the illegals to thrive there> The media is starting to show some of the travesty of the illegals being here>But very few>The Dem's keep trying to pass amnesty for the illegals>With no regards for the USA citizens>

Unfortunately, you are thinking along the idea of rule of law.

Sanctuary Cities actively subvert rule of law as they rationalize only a few illegals are troublesome individuals.

Yet the law is the law, no other nation in the world would be expected to tolerate this, honestly why is ours?

I think the greatest insult is not towards the American people, but to the people who have worked waited and earned the privledge to call themselves an American Citizen.

That is the key word: privledge.

Any "Sanctuary City", especially New York should lose Federal Funding.
Any Church that harbors Illegal Aliens should lose their tax-exempt status.
Arizona don't play that "sanctuary" $hit. They are cracking down HARD on companies that hire illegals.
All the other states should fall in line with Arizona,
where common sense has not been trumped by "political correctness"

Sadly, in our life time, I don't expect to see these f**king low life illegals to eve start to grow a sense of what laws and orders are about. I am beyond furious for the loss of this police officer.

Could all of you do me and the rest of the country a favor, write and call at least 3 of your state/federal representatives and voice your anger about this and demand real action on stopping this most outrageous b u l l s h i t !!!
