and if it is just swollen lymph nodes, will it go away by itself? or do i need medication? because my parents are usually very objective to me seeing the doctors and usually when there is something wrong, they just take matters into their own hands, so will if just go away on its own?

Lumps in your neck can be caused by numerous things, so to think FIRST that it might be cancer, is like listening to hoofbeats and thinking of zebras.

The lumps may well be swollen lymph nodes, which accompany numerous illnesses from a simple cold on up to more serious things.

If it's cancer, it won't go away in a few days.
You need to go to a doctor instead of trying to self diagnose.
You'll drive yourself crazy if you try to diagnose yourself.

If they're a little above your collar bone, they could be infected lymph nodes. That's usually an indicator of a throat infection or flu.

If they're actually on your bones they could be calcium deposits, but without a doctor looking at them it's impossible to tell.

I would not worry about this. Although you should always see a doctor when you find lumps or growths that were not always there. Are u sure your not feeling your glands in your neck? They can change in size and swell up when you get an infection.

you really need to go to the doctor and get it xrayed. believe me, the money (if its a problem) is worth it. if it is, you don't want to take any chances. my sister died from cancer as did my mother when i was 2. both thought that they were just bumps that would go away. thankfully, my brother got them xrayed quick enough and survived cancer. 3 people in my close family have had cancer. 2 died and one survived, its horrible pain for the family members. believe me.

I would immediately go see a doctor. But surf the net and type in "what is lumps in your neck?"
