Kindegarden, when I was 4, we had 2 classes each week that the teacher taught us old Chinese poems or Confucianism.

When I was in grade-school in the 60s, there were jokes that started with "Confucius say." I think it came from the old Dick Tracy cartoon which had a stereotypical Asian character called "Joe Jitsu."

Later, I learned a little bit about Confucianism when I was in high school and we studied Chinese history.

I used to read about religion a lot, and I'm pretty sure I had an English translation of a book by Confucius; I think it was called "The Analects" or something like that.

I got really interested in Taoism for a while, and I still have copies of the Tao Te Ching and Chuang Tzu.

I've heard of it. I first heard of Confucius when I was seven, but the first time I learned about Confucianism was in August.

I was attending an extra school session in the summer (not the summer schools you're thinking of), and I had to write a report on it.

The first time I heard about Confucianism wasn't particularly memorable.

yes, I know of Confucianism. First? probably back in grade school. I can recall hearing "Confucius says..." and asking who or what that was. But not until college did I learn more about those who actually revere and adhere to a following of
Confucius. It seemed rather empty compared to the personal faith I had come to know and follow in Jesus.

I was aware of Conficianism as a young boy, maybe 12 Y.O., I grew up in NYC where we had a large Chinese population (for the US). The teachings of Confusius were quite interesting to me.
Good luck with your survey.

I heard about the philosophy as a 10 year old, back in the 1960s.

Yeah, I heard about it in 7th grade world history, two years ago. It sounded like a good philosophy to me.
