I'm military and stationed in MD at the moment. I have my current car registered in FL. I plan on purchasing a car here in MD soon and needed to know if I can still keep the new car I buy registered in FL? If yes, will I be charged the state sales tax for FL or for MD? What's the percentage for each state?

As a military member, you can register your vehicle either at your duty station (in this case MD) or in your home state of record! There should be an office on base that can help you with vehicle registration!

MD has 5% tax right now (of course the boy governor wants to raise that to 6%.) FL has 6% tax

Thank you for your service

A automobile is set (a minimum of here in PA) by employing the place you purchase it The dealerships in Pittsburgh (here) are warm because of the fact a million.5% of a 40K automobile is $six hundred greenbacks. Many dealership revenues have suffered. because of the fact the comparable vehicles may well be offered basically some miles away for that much less. maximum states are "the place you purchase it" no longer the place the call is. you could call your nearby rep or perhaps the automobile broker for further information to your state.
