Ok I'm 13 and about 5'8 and I really want to know how I can strengthen the upper parts of my arms or w/e the muscles you use when you do a push up. I really hate having to do the fitness tests @ school because I always suck at the push/pull ups. I don't want to go to a gym but I have 5, 10, 20, or somewhere in there I don't know exactly, wieghts at home. Plus I'm a runner so (I just did my first 10 miler last week, I was pretty proud of myself!) I need something to do with my wieghts that will actually work, is easy and quick to do, and gives somewhat quickly results. Thanks! Remember the most detailed answer gets 10 fabulous points!

fist handed push ups. Doing push ups with your feet elevated.

Doing push ups with your feet on the ground and your upper body elevated

use dumbells, lay on a bench, and bench press them up wards, and if you want more mass, do less reps, more weight, and if you want tone, do more reps less weight. Also, try to increase your protein intake and have a good glass of milk and maybe some eggs when you are done working out

There are several things you do. Remember that using your own body weight is key in gaining muscle. Pushups can only take you so far, and you would need to do a large amount every day. Dust off those weights and start lifting. You can do simple bicep curls, which are great at building muscle. Search online for different types of exercises for arms using dumb bells. There are so many types, and it's important you find the ones you like doing. And do them every single day; definitely do not slack off. Good luck!

If you can find a pool somewhere that is heated like your local YMCA then take 2 empty gallon jugs, with lids, to the pool with you. All you do is TRY to bring those empty jugs down to your knees. Talk about strengthening your arms..........hope this helps. Good Luck !!! Blessings
