It is RAPTURE, not rupture. To be snatched away.
The word rapture does not convey the true meaning of what actually happens when God catches away the church as Paul's inspired word describes it in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and other related verses. The Greek word used here is harpazo, actually, a much stronger word than the English word rapture! The difference between the Greek word harpazo and the English term rapture is the difference between a water pistol and an atom bomb.
The noun, rapture, means to be carried away into a state of bliss and blessing, to have some kind of sublime, ecstatic experience. The dictionaries define rapture as meaning to be translated from one place to another, and especially to heaven.

1st Thessalonians 4:16,17, For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1st Corin. 15:51,52
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. When it happens, all Christians will be gone from the earth, the word rapture itself is an english word translated for our better understanding of the greek and latin language. After the rapture people will still be able to be saved but you will be killed for it because you will have to take a new mark or number of somekind so that the leader of all the people left will be able to keep track of each person on earth. Everyone will probably his slave which sounds scary considering that word is used in islam a lot. Just make sure you are a born again Christian when this happens because without the mark you will have to move out of where ever you are because you can;t buy or sell without this special mark. The Bible clearly teaches that Christ will return one day for his Church. Almost all prophecys are now fulfilled, with the technology today a chip could be planted in each person and money did away with,. One man, the anti-christ could rule the world, with our technology today that would be easy to do. Be ready, accept Christ as your Saviour today, here's how, just pray this sinners prayer and you canbe saved if you believe in Jesus, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Because the heavens open up (rupture) and Jesus descends and then all believers in Him will be caught up (raptured) to meet Him in the air.

Rapture is from the Latin Rapturas which means being caught up, for we will be caught up in the air with Him when He returns.
