Well for one thing, there are alot of things that can make a parent "annoying". From my experience, most of the time teens feel like their parents are just nagging them about things such as sex, smoking, drinking, or drug use because they can. The truth is, we parents love our kids. There is nothing scarier for a parent than not being 100% sure of our childrens safety. Whether things seem like no issue to teens such as the above things, they are. Sex-pregnancy, heartbreak, std's, etc. Smoking-lung cancer and other smoker related illness or even just the addiction. Drinking-alcoholism, drunk driving, being in a bad position and not thinking clearly how to get out of it because you are drunk. Drugs-addiction, death, etc. There are many other bad consequences that just don't make these things worth it. For a parent to think their kid may ever have to suffer from a bad decision is heartbreaking.

because as a child, you don't know anything. you don't even know whats best for you in the long run. your parents have alot more experience than you do, love you and do things your little kid brain can't understand yet.

One day, when you're an adult, you'll look back at yourself as a kid and think about the level of ignorance you used to be at. And you'll be embarrased, in hindsight, for the you of today.

Why are they after you? Are you sitting like a lump on the sofa or something. Parents want to see a child progress and excel. When a kid is sitting around doing nothing, it gets pretty aggravating. If they quit getting after you, it means they don't care about you anymore.

Because good parents love their kids enough to do right by them, even though it can mean not being liked by them. Though parents make mistakes, they almost always know what's best for their child more than the child does. And please don't be offended by the word "child". I am 37 and proud to be one of my used-to-be-annoying parents' "children". I promise you- one day you'll be telling your own kids, "Yeah, well I thought MY parents were annoying too!"

Because they love you and care about how you will turn out as an adult. Once you have a baby of your own, you will see why they did what they did.

They are training you to be annoying one day to your kids. Listen and learn. There will be a test later.

What makes them annoying--them telling you what to do? Trust me, it's probably in your best interest.

They really do love you....want to know how much, imagine them dead, then you'll forever wish they even "troubled" you more.
