Yes you can!! And here is a recipe that came from my family during the civil war, 2 eggs- 1 cup brown sugar- 1 cup sugar- 1 cup of oil- 1 teaspoon vanilla- 2 cups flour- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon- 1/2 teaspoon of salt- 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 6 cups of diced apples that are peeled, use 3 red apples and 3 green apples. Put all ingredients together in a mixer and mix it until everything is mixed in:) Then put in a bundt pan that is sprayed with that Pam that has the flour in it, bake at 350 for about 40 to 60 minutes, after it's done baking pull out of the oven and let cool until completely cool, then in a different bowl you need to take a block of Philadelphia cream cheese 8 ounce block, 3 tablespoons of butter(not real butter) margarine, and 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla- mix it in a electric mixer also, that is your frosting, cover the whole cake with it eat and enjoy!!! I get a phone call almost daily from various friends and family for this cake. So I am forever making it:)!!!! It is so YUMMY!!! This cake is called a : German apple cake with butter cream frosting.

An oven is an oven and YES you can cook it an electric one. Many of these recipes are really good. Good luck!

P.S. Make sure you have all the ingredients first, I always make that mistake.

That's what ovens are usually manufactured for... to cook stuff. Gas or electric, they are made to cook food, including cakes.

Why not just go to any old search engine and type in Cake Making, and then spend the next month or two reading it all. there's enough to keep you busy that long.

Yes, gas and electric ovens deliver the same outcome, the only difference is its way of producing the heat (ie: heating your oven to 350º).

As far as good recipes, um, not really I BBQ, not much of a baker.

the only different thing is the heat source, at long as you can reach the desire temperature weather it be gas, charcoal or electricity you'll be ok to bake, as for recipes they won't change at all. if you want to find good a nd various recipes for cakes go to www.recipezaar.com

Of course. Try looking at the recipes on Allrecipes.com. They are rated so you can see what others have thought about the specific recipe. (The tiramisu cake is wonderful!!) They have all varieties of cake to choose from and I think you will be happy with what they offer.
