If you and a guy were talking, even went out a few times, and he drew you a beautiful portrait of yourself... the most beautiful portrait you've ever seen, but you have no interest at all in being more than friends with him, then he does something to either get you mad or hurt you, and you two went from happy talking to completely not talking to each other for over a year... you don't care about him at all, and he don't care about you... he doesn't even matter to you... unimportant... would you keep the drawn portrait of yourself that he gave to you and frame it? And why, or why not?

i probably would cause i'm like that. just because i'm mad at someone doesnt mean i'm gonna rip up or throw away things they gave me. the picture would still mean something, even if i was mad at them.

Im gonna use you & me as an example to what im going to say..just makes it easier.
say you did that potrait fingo for me..and we got into a fight and stuff..if we'd gotten into a fight and i saw the drawing near me i'd probably pick it up and rip it apart because i'd be in an angry mood and i'd use it to get back at you sort of thing (expecting you to get angry at me for ripping it - stupid i know)..but if i had put it away..and i found it a few days later from when we had a fight or something like that..i'd probably keep it..because i wouldnt be as angry at you anymore..and if i thought it was a beautiful picture..then theres no point in throwing it out..because just cause i now think the person who drew it is a total jerk ..the picture itself is pretty good.
hope you understood what i meant...& hope you dont think im a freak now lol.

Well, I think i'd keep the portrait, but I wouldn't frame it. I'd probably just store it somehwere, but ,if it was the most beautiful, I would never throw it away.

I would keep the portrait because it is a memory of your past. When you get older and come across the picture memories of your younger days will come rushing back.

I would probably keep the picture because anger eventually fades but, something that you know was given to you with good intentions & in friendship will always be beautiful.

well, I would keep it if it is that phenomenal of a drawing... but i probably wouldn't frame it. It is a total waste of talent if you plan on just throwing away something nice. Did you know pablo picasso burned his own paintings for warmth at one time? well that is stupid. he didn't deserve to become that famous if he didnt see his own talent. but whatever, i would keep the picture.

I have a box of everything just about any guy I've been with has given me. Even though it might not have that much meaning to me right now someday it might and I'll be upset one day when I'm old and want to jog my memory, that's how I hold onto my memories.

I'd keep it. My feelings towards him might change eventually. Meanwhile, even if it weren't a picture of me but just a beautiful, artful drawing I'd keep it.

Keep it! She could be one of those girls that keeps EVERYTHING. I have love letters from high school and I'm married now. MY husband sees no problem in it. It isn't like she is going back the loser just like I would never go back with any of my ex-losers.. So she could just be a packrat like myself and keep everything :)

Keep it anyway. You said it was "the most beautiful you have ever seen."
