That giant flushing sound you hear is nothing to fear. Remain calm...
Actually, you can't expect to borrow trillions of dollars worth of debts and expect your currency to remain solvent. It's simple economics. I'm not sure it has anything to do with Creationism, but the Iraq War is certainly a huge part of the cost.
Peace to you. (And if I sent you some money, would you mind changing it out to Canadians for me?)

No Fiscal Restraint once the "conservative" Republicans took over.
They've been spending much more irresponsibly than any "tax and Spend" liberal! Alan Greenspan more or less agrees. (Now he does! He had a long time to exert some influence)
We still have a LOT of currencies worldwide pegged to the dollar, but we've been monetarizing the debt. They recently got rid of the M3 monetary measurement so we wouldn't notice!
It's not over and done with yet. We're in for a rough few years-late 70's style stagflation (Thank You George W. Bush!) But we are still the most mighty military empire ever! And the World's consumer! We'll probably still be these things in 15 years.
So, temporarily going down the shitter. not permanently!

Down and gone. The economy has been weakened on purpose. Everyone is in debt up to their eyeballs. Interest rates are high and unstable. The cost of living has sky rocketed. We just had a minimum wage pay raise. When that happens, everything goes up again all across the board. They are trying to make us as dependent on them as possible. We are too busy trying to make a living to look up once in a while to see the big picture. Deliberate. It feels like I'm on a runaway train and I don't know where the end of the line is.

The tree of liberty would desire to on celebration, be watered with the blood of Patriots and Tyrants. unhappy yet authentic. look, we are at a crossroads right here. on the only hand, there is Islamic Fascism which totally intends to dominate the international and extinguish the mild of freedom as quickly as and for all. on the different hand is Liberty. there is not any middle floor. can we enter the fray and sow the seeds of liberty? Or can we enable evil to be triumphant until it is so pervasive and so useful, that we finally end up in dwelling house to dwelling house attempt against in Iowa? they are coming for us. they have telegraphed their flow. we can the two renounce and post to Sharia regulation or die so some distance as they are worried. they are able to alter their minds or die so some distance as we are worried. it fairly is largely a count of time before there is the main suitable prepare down. as quickly as that happens each and every of the money interior the international would be well worth not something. end of tale. *

Iraq tried to assassinate our President, attack our ally, pay suicide bombers to kill civilians, and attacked us repeatedly during the cease-fire for a decade.
Creationism is a belief. I do hope you don't plan on forbidding beliefs!
Global ignorance? They have consistently had to raise the definition of "100" on an IQ score because too many people are above it, and it is, by definition, the average. We are getting smarter and BETTER informed with the web than ever before.
The U.S.? The most powerful, richest, most diverse nation in the world? Doing pretty good!
Devalued dollar? Do you know, in economic terms, what that means? Why Japan deliberately devalues their money? Why they fear a devalued U.S. dollar?
Do some research on economic principles before you freak out. We hear the same doom scenario every time an election year is coming up.
It's silly, at least to anyone older than thirty that actually cares more about their country than their personal ideology.

That blew me away, the Canadian/US dollar thing. It was inevitable though.
Not enough prayer for lower interest rates, I fear.
