I've been studying for my Old Testament Exam that is coming up. I'm reading about the 4 covenants (Noah, Abraham, Moses, David), and am wondering why Abraham and David are called unconditional.

Because God said He was going to do something for both Abraham and David, and it didn't depend upon them for God to fulfill His promise.

God made the covanant with Abraham but put Abram to sleep during the process,and that is why. God will not and cannot break His Word,man always does.
