My cats love to unroll my toilet paper from the roll- are there any products out there to keep them from doing that? Thanks!

I've tried closing my door, but they just scratch at the door and the carpet in front of it.

Maybe just a big rubber band - it would take the extra step of removing it and replacing it every time you use the paper, but it would keep the cats from unrolling it.

Unroll Toilet Paper

Take a number and join the crowd. I also have to keep rolls of paper towels out of reach. But I solved the problem very easily. I buy margarine in the 3 lb tubs (1.36 kg), and when washed out, are the perfect size to fit a roll of toilet paper inside. I no longer even have to put the cover on it, but leave it on the toilet tank top. It solved the problem completely.

You can put an almost finished roll periodically on the roller, to see if they have outgrown that habit. That way if they unroll it, they don't ruin too much, and your mess will be small to clean up.

There's a lid you can get that fits over the toilet paper, but actually the easiest remedy is to turn the roll around so instead of unrolling it, they roll it tighter. I have mine hanging with the loose stuff from the back, not the front. That solves the problem for us.

Flip the roll the other way so it unrolls from the bottom and it won't be so easy. Tape a piece of tinfoil to the wall above the toilet paper so that the foil loosely drapes over the roll. It's not beautiful, but you can reach under the foil and the cat may not like it. My cat hates foil.

Welcome to my world! (laughing!) My cat, when he was a kitty, not only LOVED to unroll the toilet paper roll, but the paper towel roll as well. He loves paper. To this day, he'll sit up on my desk and if he sees any papers there, he will puncture and shred the corners! kinky kitty! There isn't anything that I could do to stop him from grabbing the toilet paper other than to put the toilet paper roll in the drawer next to the commode. Eventually he did stop unrolling the toilet paper and paper towels. So hopefully your cats will out-grow or forget... if they don't see the paper! Good luck! =^.^=

You have made my day because I had a really good laugh over this. I have a cat who also likes to unroll the tissue paper. But he not only unrolls it he then shreds it into a million pieces. I tried shutting the door but for some reason he likes to sleep in there on the floor. maybe because it is cooler for him. Anyway I havent really solved the problem yet, I just try to keep an eye on him.thank yo ufor sharing your problem and good luck Im sorry not to have an answer for you.

Hello, there is a product that you can use. It does not do the cat any harm as we did it to stop ours pooing in the garden. It is called citronella oil, they don't like the smell of it at all. Just rub a little on the floor near where the toilet roll hangs, or at the door if you can't close your door. You can buy it almost anywhere, and it doesn't cost too much either. Hope this helps!

Start closing your bathroom door.

Make a simple toy by attaching a feather to a long peice of string.

tie it onto a doorknob so it hangs.

Cats go Crazy for that

EDIT

Yikes!
Maybe you Could Spend a Little Bit of Money on Buying a Cat Scratching Post?

Such as the One Shown Here:

And Try Winding up some yard balls and throw a few in places,
This will keep them away from the toilet.

Keep the Toilet paper high up too!

GOOD LUCK!

We found a toy that my cat is afraid of (a squeaky dog toy). We kept squeaking it for a few days, and once he realized the toy was responsible for the noise he didn't like, we put it on top of the roll.

Instead of having to hid the toilet paper or anything, we just have a creepy squeaking Santa sitting on our roll year round. The cat doesn't bother it, but it does get a few funny looks when people come over to visit...
