The amount of ingredients are intended for an 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pan. The 9 x 13 will make the brownies very "short" and they will cook through more like a bar cookie and very quickly. If you have a bread pan (about 1/2 the size the recipe calls for - so bake 1/2 the batter now and half later), that would be better than the 9 x 13.

If you're using a glass pan, you're right to drop the oven temp by 25 degrees.

I don't think you'll like this baked in the larger pan...some boxes of brownie mix call for the 9 x 13, but not the one you bought!

If you're going to use the 9 x 13, check it after 15 minutes. If a toothpick comes out clean, they're done.

Yes , 3/4 cup of water is for the whole box. I would not drop the temperature unless the pan is a very dark metal. The times suggested on the box work very well for most ovens. There are two types of mixes though. One is a smaller batch that goes into a 9x9 inch pan and the other goes into a 9X13 inch pan. Make sure you use the correct size pan. And let them cool completely before cutting.

Yes, it's the whole package of powder. The oil with the water is plenty of liquid, though it will be goopy (it tastes pretty good at that point, too) and lumpy. Smash the big lumps with your spoon, but don't worry about the little ones. And yes, you do need to change the oven temp if you use a glass pan. It'll burn if you don't.

Are you Mr. Mom or what,Jake? Just how do you know these things?! This reminds me SO much of when I "attempted" to bake Christmas cookies one year when my kids were much younger. Luckily for me though, it was the Pastor down the street who,by the Grace of God~(not the name of the church)~found my one-and-a-half year old Kyle toddling naked down the center line of the street, and brought him home to me. His 4 yr. old brother had left the front door wide open when he went next door to play with his friend. Kyle was going through that phase where they won't keep any clothes on (actually,I don't know if this is common, but both mine went through this.) What I didn't know until Animal Control showed up at my door was that "Kiko", our Siberian Husky and family guard-dog, had escaped also through the open door and had terrorized the mailman, who then sprayed Kiko down with some fluorescent- orange mace that we never were able to get completely out of his pure white coat, and I was given a citation anf forced to pick up all my mail in person at the post office from then on. Needless to say, there were no home-made Christmas cookies that year, or any other year for that matter. It's a WalMart hard candy Christmas for us.

My brownie mix usually calls for more oil then that, but if you follow the box, it will also tell you degrees for oven. You do not want to over mix brownies, its kinda like quick bread jsut mix till all ingredients are wet, dont have to be smooth. More eggs in batter creates a cake like outcome, less egg fudgy gooey outcom. usually its 2 to 3 eggs also in mix. with oil and butter,

You need the correct size of pan or they will come out too thin and crunchy. Size is always very important.

it is for the whole box *** the pan size will give you a thinner brownie and perhaps not as chewy but equally good
