Virginia vehicle license plates with numbers like "1234-BBB" and "1234-BBC" on a background of fall leave colors are often seen on the roads. What do the "BBB" or "BBC" here signify?

Virginia's autumn leaves license plate started with AAA for the suffix, followed by AAB, AAC, etc., up to at least BBD so far. A short run of these plates (with suffixes from AAA to AAD) were made with the leaves on the entire plate, but those plates were withdrawn due to readability issues, and replaced with plates with the leaves only along the edges.

The BBC or BBB letters mean nothing! That is one of many specialty plates offered by VA and the letters are just issued in order!
