In a dog that has a pink or black roof of his mouth?

Some dumb guy said that if a dog's roof of the mouth is pink, he's an idiot or stupid.

What I mean is does it mean anything if your dog's roof of his mouth is pink or black?

No I didn't listen to him. I'm just curious if the color of the mouth means anything.

Ask the guy to open his mouth - bet it's pink.

Seriously, there is no significance to the color of the roof of a dog's mouth. And contrary to another thing I keep hearing, just because a dog has a black spot on his tongue doesn't mean he's mixed with a chow either.

the roof of their mouth has NOTHING to do with their intelligence whatsoever. some breeds have a pink roof to their mouth some have a black. it depends on the breed and their coloring.

And you listened to him? That makes about as much sense as saying the color of a person's skin is related to intelligence. In other words, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with intelligence in any way, shape or form.

How intelligent your dog becomes depends on how much you teach him to use his mind through things such as obedience training, nilif (nothing in life is free), trick training, agility, etc. The more he uses his mind the more his intelligence will develop. Be sure and include activities especially designed for his breed or breed type. For example, if he's a hound include activities where he uses his nose such as games of sniff and find, or tracking.
