If you had cataract surgery (usual reason for IOL), then you won't be able to read without glasses.

You will need to get new glasses after having an implant, the doctor will check for your glasses prescription about 4-5 weeks after surgery, vision will be blurry for a few weeks after surgery as the eye heals. Your prescription before surgery doesn't matter, the surgeon measures your corneal curvature and eye length before surgery and uses those numbers to decide on IOL power.

The prescription shouldn't matter all that much because the test that the surgeon would have done (IOL master or a manual Ascan) would have given the calculations for whatever you were set at (to see distance and need reading glasses, or the opposite). That is the main way that the strength of your IOL is chosen.
It can take a good week for your vision to clear up, especially if you had a very dense cataract or a very myopic or hyperopic prescription before the surgery.
Also the type of IOL can have an effect on the speediness of clearer vision. Patients that have a multifocal IOL (giving you the ability to focus far and near with a very limited need for glasses if there is a need at all) will have a longer healing time mainly due to neuro-adaptation.

Address it with your doctor at your next follow up or sooner if you notice a significant decline in your vision or if you are trulry that uncomfortable with the way it is now.

Because the lens that is implanted is specific to your vision. If your nearsighted, the Ophthamologist judges how many diopters you will need to properly corredt your vision. They are not 1 size fits all. Tell your Dr. your seeing blurry. It's probably just sweliing but your eyes heal very fast. Keep using the prescibed eye drops but keep your Dr. informed about your vision.

Tell your doctor or mom about this!!! The prescription matters, but your vision should not be the same as before you got implants.

I actually just had the same thing happen to me, he told me I was way hotter than his gf and all of this crap and he was like that to a bunch of other girls, and I just thought well if he does that behind her back to me then would he do the same thing behind my back to another girl...all I'm sayin is that you should just watch what kind of guy he really is and if this is not the casse then definately go out with him!!! Good Luck
